a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Lazy Person...

This old mirror is topped with Dad's road sign.
It comforted him, during Alzheimer's, to read his name
and know he was home.

I oiled the wood in the hall.  The smell of lemon oil flows through the house and makes it seem fresher and less wintry.  Now, if I could just get around to oiling Grandma's organ and the other wooden items, I might be in fair shape.  Just a square foot at a time...

I read of many doing winter cleaning and I am embarrassed because I seem to accomplish little while staying busy.  Two jobs do that, then throw in just maintaining daily life...not much time left to do the extras.

I did finally finish Hubbs' quilt, a memory quilt made from his embroidered shirts back when he used to have a job.  I did catch him snoozing in his recliner with it wrapped around him so maybe he likes it.

I have eight boxes of farm things to move to the shop.

I walk through the house, looking, do I keep this or that?  I see all the work that cries out to be done and here I sit on the computer...remembering Granny's words..."Lazy people count their jobs"!

Unfortunately, I'm just the opposite, Gail. I won't "play" until my work is done...:)JP

I prefer to call "it" low energy. And in my defense, if I'm counting something then I can't be lazy right?

Those paneled walls are absolutely beautiful.

A lazy person would not have wood walls that gleam like those in the picture!

counting is work too????? right???? I think you're being a litle hard on yourself. After all, you can't do it all, all at one time. A little bit at a time gets all the work done.....eventually. Besides when we were half a million years younger, we didn't have the good sense to slow down and pace ourselves.
Your walls look wonderful. Lemon oiled wood is so gorgeous.
and blogging counts as work too... honest.

That sign with your dad's name on it is so poignant. What a beautiful thing to do for him...to ground him when the earth was shifting beneath his feet.

"Lazy people count their jobs." I like that.

I can smell that lemon all the way here [hehe] but mainly because Paul cleaned one of his guitars a little earlier and it smells of lemons now. Your hall looks very nice and shiny...one step at the time ^_^
Enjoy your day!

That woodwork looks beautiful!

Don't worry. It will all get done in its own time!

You did a beautiful job on the woodwork. You know sometimes you need to just stop and do a little something for yourself. If that means playing on the computer, taking a long break or even a long hot bath. I say go for it. You work hard and deserve it. :-)
