a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Mountain Top

by Robert Whitlow is my current reading book.  It is a refreshing change from other books I've read.

I would like to share some of his words directly from the book...

"...her tanned face now lined with wrinkles that were the road map to a hundred different ways to smile."

"...could wash a fifty-cent plate and enjoy a million dollar view."

"...daffodils would jump out of the ground in clumps of yellow celebration all across the back yard."

"There are all kinds of jail.  One of the worst is the prison of wrong thinking."

It is a fictional tale of a lawyer turned minister...now, we know this shows great imagination. It is a crime drama, I suppose, but it is peppered with wisdom and also includes faith comments that seemed to come when I needed them most.

The writing style hooked me, the tale has reeled me in...and no, I was not paid to write this...and, no, I won't tell you how it ends.

I don't remember reading anything by this author but I do have one of his books waiting on my Kindle - Deeper Water. It was a free one I picked up a couple of years ago and never read so I'll put it on my "read next" list (which has about 25 books on it!) blessings, marlene

That's one to put on my list. I keep a list in the notes section of my phone - that way if I see something or hear of something I can jot it down and I'll have the list with me when I shop. (I also take pictures of book covers when I'm browsing!!) Thanks for the recommendation. I LOVE his way with words. What colorful language! I'm a very visual person... maybe that is why his word choices appeal to me!

I really like the passages you chose to share. I like the way he writes- based on those choices. Some folks just have a way with words. Like you!
