are safe. I just spoke to her on the phone. The thunder storms still hang over them but hopefully the worst has passed. These tornadoes tonight followed some of the same paths as the previous disaster. Major flooding and I know many things have happened that cannot be seen til daylight. The storming is expected to hang on for hours.
Sandy our Oklahoma Transient does not know how their home fared but they have dodged the severe weather. Sandy, Hubby, Son and Dogs are safe.
Pray for all in the middle of this true test of courage and faith.

like dreams

The Mag 170...Horses
Tess Kincaid at Magpie Tales presents a creative challenge weekly. Add your creation and read others.
Ponytail by Last Exit
How would I knowThe empty spot
They left
When I "gifted" my horses
The visit of strangers
Reminded me
Of my loss
My gift
The smell
The feel
The strength of horses
Touched my heart again
Leaving me empty
Once more
As I herded them
Toward their home.

Like Learning How To Drive...
Canon EOS Rebel T4i DSLR 18MP Camera w/ 2 Lenses, Bag & 8GB SD Card
I decided it was time for me to take some GOOD pictures. I've grown lazy with Marcy providing beautiful pictures and I choose. I've had a point and shoot for years...just increased the MPs. In the beginning I owned a 35mm and knew how to use it. Those days are long gone.
I have thirty days to decide IF I am capable of using this bad boy or not then I will keep or return.
Today I played with a few things growing At The Farm.
Pie cherries
These won't last long.
The birds have already discovered them.
Baby peaches
and mulberries.
Not sure if I can drive this big camera or not.

Surprises Appear...
Sometimes odd things show up
In my water garden
Like plumber's art
Blooming lilies
And pecan blooms
A new hidden statue
and a nice surprise left by Hubby.
Always a surprise around the water garden.

Today...
the scenes kept changing
the fronts blew in and out
Between the rains I took a walk.
Shared my tiny discovery with Hubby.

Prayer Needed...
I am sure no one has escaped the knowledge of the great tragedy passing through New Castle and Moore Oklahoma.
There is no imagining this loss...of life, of loved ones, of property. Please remember all in your prayers.
I have word my friend and her family close to Norman (just a skip and a hop from the center of this mess) Oklahoma are okay. She called. Now that is a friend...in the midst of all this, she was worried that I would be worried!
Today they volunteer where they are needed.
Pray there will be more survivors and not just recovery.
Today I wept for lives lost, the young who will never grow old and the dreams that were lost in mere seconds.
God bless every one.

The Mag 169
Magpie Tales with Tess Tincad presents a writing challenge each week at The Mag. Join. Read. Enjoy.
Eventually we know
A weed is a weed
And not wishes
We cannot refrain
From hoping
As we blow
Wishes
And seeds
To the winds
Wishes grow weeds
Lighthouses fall
As do we
I admire those
Who still dream
While I cannot sleep

Open Link Night Week 96...
dVerse Poets is giving free rein to creativity in this poetic adventure. Your subject, your style, your creation...enjoy the contributions from many.
Two weeks of reflections
Entertained
By a Greg Iles page turning thriller
Iced with Tiger's Curse
And Water For Elephants
A week plus two with illness
And pills with allergic reactions
And probing needles
Finished by misaligned back
And pockets full of pain
Free style nonsense
Patterned after insanity
Lay on pages
Crying out to be dissected
And critiqued
Many will gallantly try to find
Beauty and balance in these lines
Of purely crafted nonsense
And say, "Oh, how beautiful"
While I ice pack my ass
Waiting for the pain meds
To kick in.
Chocolate
Caffeine
And Kindness make it tolerable.

dVerse~Poets Pub Terza Rima...
- dVerse~Poets Pub poetry challenge This Thursday our challenge was a Terza Rima rhyming poetry in tercets...what the ??? Anyway, here's my attempt. "The first and third lines of each subsequent stanza rhyme with the second line from the stanza before, so the rhyme scheme is aba bcb cdc and so on. You need at least three stanzas to produce the musical effect of the chain-rhyming."
Revealed as a snake in the grass,
Injecting your venom
Withdrawing was low class
My personal prison
Was this empty shell
Newly arisen
I have rebelled
By floating away
I've escaped your hell

Dreaming...
I can't say
I do not dream
I feel my eyes
Move quickly
Observing worlds
As I sleep
I dream
But the memories of it
Slip away
And lay on the edge
Just out of reach
Enough to be strangers.
I do not dream
I feel my eyes
Move quickly
Observing worlds
As I sleep
I dream
But the memories of it
Slip away
And lay on the edge
Just out of reach
Enough to be strangers.

A Road That Leads To Real Toads
Lance and His Dog by Edward Lear
Is my choice of subject for
Our challenge by IGWRT presented here
Lance knew not what fate awaited him
Along with his dog Jim
They had cavorted and recklessly played
Within the garden so artfully laid
When done there were only limbs.
Oh but there was a saving grace
The pair hadn't destroyed the place
As they bowed to receive their chewing
The master noticed what they'd been doing.
Chaotic action had one intent to accent this beautiful face.
Join the fun,
Create and read
Stop by Real Toads
And see what they need.

I Own A Gun
Crazies will find a way
Long after the disarming
To disrupt, damage and kill
Long after the disarming
To disrupt, damage and kill
I own a gun
As I own all my tools;
Responsibly, respectfully and
rightfully.
I own a gun
Because our freedom still stands
And our flag still
waves.
God Bless America!
Forty-five words for Imaginary Garden With Real Toads for the "unprompted" poetry challenge.
