We decided to dine at the Printing Press Cafe.
The walls along Main are full of interesting murals
depicting history and lore.
History on a menu
Local quotes on the walls
A pleasant place to dine with good food
even the bathrooms were cool!
Some social issues never change
and history repeats itself...again and again.

Hello, what a neat cafe. I love the mural, quotes and the history on the menu. Enjoy your weekend!
This looks like a wonderful place to eat and the quote about the river bend speaks with words of wisdom. My oracle card for the day!
I love it... I like the 3 different types of buildings in the first shot and would love to eat in the café and see the COOL bathroom. I have been guilty of taking bathroom photos. and I love the last two signs of the times that were then and now are again... we need more of those 3 preachers and we need them now. very interesting history here
That's cool they turned it into a cafe. Made for a great name.
What a nice day out for you and I always love reading history. I would eat here in a minute, looks great and I love your photos.
What a lovely place. How wonderful that they share their history and art with all who pass by.
It's about time this country repeats that history!
Looks like a great outing . . .
And some history too . . .
I see you in one of the pictures!
murals are my favorite, such a great way to jazz up what would be plain walls!!! looks like a fun outing!!!
My support group has found and enjoys the Printing Press Cafe and we go there fairly often. Then we tour the main street. Makes for a fun outing.
very cool murals. loved the name: clinkingbeard
I love the name of the town. Just that takes you right back to another time. Every town has interesting stories to tell and it's nice this one's are being preserved.
How cool and what a very nice interesting town. Loved all of the signs.
Haven't been there in a long time. Hopefully soon! I hope you are having a great weekend...now that all the nasty weather has moved out.
What a lovely, quaint place! It must've been a really fun outing.
This is my favourite kind of outing! I love the everyday historical places. They are what made America.
Those who don't learn from the past...
Have a blessed week, Gail. ♥
Sounds like you killed two birds with one trip. You were able to get your tiller fixed, and had a wonderful meal at a place with tons of history.

All the best Jan
My husband and I love to explore old towns like that one. And oh, how I love murals!
=)
Interesting information re the history, and wonderful murals. :)
Many years ago my husband had distant family who lived at Calico Rock. In our younger days we went there once for him to go fishing and stayed at a small cabin somewhere nearby. It was July and we went to a movie in downtown (such as it is) Calico Rock. There was no air conditioning but it wasn't needed. There were huge attic fans and it got so cold I had to wear a sweater and still shivered! blessings, marlene
Funny you mention that the bathrooms are cool, because that's something I always notice! My family and friends think I should put together a bathroom book even. It looks like a great fun place to visit!
That is one town that is overflowing with character! "Religious or strictly moral"--that is quite an achievement.
