The early garden is plowed
and sweaters are shed.
Onion sets are planted, three kinds in short rows. As these sprout and begin to grow later onions will be planted to satisfy our green onion hunger. In the mean time, fresh garlic will do for cooking with a tiny bit in salads.
For those still deep in snow...spring is on its way.

our march came in like a lamb whatever that means. i love the person who is walking in the plowed garden> HE HE HE... my favorite photo is the sweater. i love shots like that. glad you are springing forward with your planting although i don't eat onions..

Happy March 1st to you too! We had spring for a day, okay kind of two in a row, sort of, but I woke up to a fresh blanket of just about an inch all over my what used to be snow-less property. Oh well, I can enjoy your spring-like-weather! Love the bee.

A dandelion! Always a wonderful sign of spring, but they become pests too soon. I'm planting the spring garden here in South Carolina, too. I was just admiring my nice dirty fingernails!
Ooh, I know how you feel. My kale sprouts are one day away from going in the dirt. Yes. You really have a large garden planned. I'm more of an 10 by 2 times 2 gal.
there is nothing like spring onions! Brings out strong memories of rich earth and that almost sweet onion.
Oh I am so happy to see the turning of the calendar to March! You are way ahead of the game there...I am still looking at seed catalogs, just trying to decide what I want to plant!
I have garlic in the ground from last fall. Now I need to figure out how to safely dry and store it when I harvest it. With all the humidity we have, it is almost impossible to figure where to hang it.
