This Morning, I Wanted To Push Him In A Ditch

Not the rooster, the hubby!  I had a plan, even though I have been running a fever, coughing my head off and just feeling very bad in general.

My barn project was on my mind.  I made a mental list of what I needed:  hammer, battery drill, screws, tape measure, nails, flat crow bar/nail thingy remover,  monster screw driver to help reverse the gate hangers and move the gates in the barn.

I have a closet that I keep the tools in I use.  WELL, somehow they have grown feet and walked away.  The screw driver batteries are dead, my bit I needed was not there.  The crow/pry bar, and even my hot pink measuring tape was gone.

Okay, no problem, I will run a cord to the barn, use the electric drill, use a yard stick and proceed as planned.  This will work and I can use my electric saw too since I have to run a cord anyway.  It was not meant to happen!  No electric drill in sight!  By the time I had charged my batteries on my cordless, I had said, piss on it (excuse me) and put all my partial supply of tools back in their appointed spots.

If you have not guessed, I am married to a scatterer!  He has scads of tools, he has a shop of tools, but he doesn't know exactly where his are so he comes to the tool closet because they are organized and easy to find.  Does he return them, heck no!

I request the return of the closet tools and he insists they are his.  May I borrow them?  Don't know where they are, ARGGGHHHH!

I think I will give him a list of tools I need and he shall have a week to gather them.  I am not asking his help in this construction but I do want my @##@% tools.  (Don't know what that bad word was, I just like doing that)

I was thinking about putting up a voting bar on the side with suggestions of what I should do to him and let you vote, but I have decided against that because that would be absolute proof of premeditation to any harm that might befall him.

I am open to suggestions.  The pink tools worked for awhile but not anymore.  I think he can see them better.  If I am to do any projects, I must have tools!  Help!

In The Pink, Inside And Out

Marcy's house plant
and spring peeking out.

The contest has ended and I have my new name for the other blog.  Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions.  I have chosen my sister's suggestion (I did not say, This contest is not valid for family members or people who are employed by this company).  The name she suggested just seemed to say what I wanted to convey.

Please don't forget to visit Familiar Spirit.  I welcome you with open arms.

Spring is coming.   We are supposed to be in the fifties today, prasie God!

Marcy's Camera

A sky with promise of warmth appears,

while Marcy frames the horses
between the trees.
And, darn it, I had to be a work!

Frosty Feathers, Frozen Fronds, Frog Eggs

Still a little frosty in the mornings,
Standing one one leg,
to warm the feet.
Signs of spring hide under ice.
The water lilies are beginning to grow.
Frog eggs working at being tadpoles.

This Is Me, Smiling

I just noticed I have ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE  followers.  One hundred twenty-one people who think I write something worth reading!!!

This is just simply amazing to me, and I am so proud.  I remember when I first started, I worried and wondered if anyone would ever read my post and comment.  I wondered, will they follow?

You have  made my dream come true!  I am so pleased  you are listening.  You have listened to me rant, cry, moan and complain.  You have shared laughter, life and happiness with me. You have helped me through the valleys and celebrated when I reached  the mountain tops.

I have decided each and every one of deserve a gift and my thanks.

I thank you.

The gift is coming up....

I present the gift of....
an early spring.

Where ever you are, no matter the weather, know that underneath that snow, spring is getting ready and I wish yall an early spring.

Thanks!

Nothing To Crow About

Some Random Thoughts
Have you noticed how "accidents" (like this picture) actually turn out better than what you had planned in the first place?

Sometimes life is that way.  That may mean Some One else is in charge and it wasn't an accident after all.
It is difficult to capture a rooster in midcrow.

Spring is one day closer!

My Wonderful Barn

It began its life as a chicken house but never housed chickens.  It has been a cow barn, a hay shed, and a storage facility.

When we moved here, Beverly and I redid the barn from end to end, making it compatible for miniature horses.  We used what we had as you can see Dad's old truck rack is the sides on these two stalls.  The missing roof and the dipping roof supports are thanks to the tornado in 2008.
It is not a prize winning barn but it is ours and no monies owed.

Made by Dad, with some help, years before I can remember.  Through the red gate are two mini birthing stalls, no longer used.  The old deep freeze is where I keep halters, brushes and some feed.

This Sunday Beverly and I toured the barn with a new plan in mind.  Where were the supports no longer good, what was our purpose, what did we need to tear out, what to leave; these were just some of the questions we asked.

Since my tack is in my bedroom, a plan to make a mouse proof tack room is in the works, using one of the mini stalls that already has half walls.  We have lots of lumber that Dad milled At The Farm, trouble is, most of what we have not used is hickory and oak.  Hard timber!  Old seasoned like iron lumber but lumber none the less.  So diamond drill bits will be needed and lots of muscles and lots of time...but it possible.  Now that we have a plan, it shall come to pass.

We will also have to take a section out of the center where the rafters have been lifted and set down by the same said tornado, converting this into another entrance where we could go right to horses or left to Marcy's potting shed, goat house and storage.
I have been stacking rocks.

With all the rocks that keep turning up, I just stack them where they will not harm the horses.  There will be a purpose for them sometime.  We use everything At The Farm.

It's A Contest: Help Name The Other Blog

In the beginning it was Gypsy the foster dog.  I talked about her so much that I moved her to another blog.  Gypsy was successfully adopted. Yoda was next, then Gentry, I was fostered out.  I continued the blog with just pictures of animals.  I have changed the name a few times but am not happy yet.

Critters is the current name.  It is not saying what I want to say.  All creatures, big and small, all animals I see, all animals who let me take a picture, lucky to be shot...something catchy.  I am at a loss.

SOOOO, I am turning to my blogland friends for creative help.  Deadline is Friday night to submit your suggestion.  You will get some sort of crittery surprise for the lucky one I choose.  Also, if you think I should dump the other blog, say so. I welcome honesty, as well as comments, followers, chocolate...
