Doing Some Weeding...

Not in the garden, but in my thoughts.  Many things, like this weed above, have hidden qualities.  Dandelions make a wonderful addition to any spring green mix you are cooking and yet, sometimes,  we just see the weed.

I am weeding my mind today...of frustrations and flares that add nothing but complication.

I am frustrated when someone leaves a comment and uses no reply comment as a return address.  I buck up, and think my reply is not worthy of their time.  Then, I let it go...

I am frustrated when the comment is embedded below the post, then I have to go back, add a word verification and then scroll down once again to see if I got that right.  Simple solution, do not use this embedded below post style.  In fact, with the spam blockers we now have in BlogSpot, just check no anonymous and you will not even have to use word verification.

Approving a comment before it is posted is not really necessary either.  With these uncalled for comments, the crudeness, ignorance, or just plain rudeness will reflect on the commenter not the person who wrote the post and with the elimination of anonymous commmenters, you always know who it is.

In my frustration, I take a deep breath...AND LET IT GO.
Oh, but the flowers I have growing in blogland are so wonderful and pleasing and informative and just down right friendly.  I savor each comment as I would a fresh, perfect strawberry from the garden.

I would never have continued this long with my nonsensical writings, without the encouragement from all of you.  You have supported me, kindly, through my whining.  You have laughed with me at my mistakes.  You have encouraged me through the low spots and celebrated with me on the mountain top...THIS I WILL NEVER LET GO!

Thank you and may all have a blessed day.

Oh I love your blog, Gail, and haven't been over here in a while. Just trying to catch up with other things. But here I am again, and it's good to see you! Blessings and hugs. Jo

I like the concept of weeding one's mind. Need to do that more often so the beautiful thoughts have a place to flourish and grow. Thanks :-)

I know exactly what you mean, about the verification things, Gail. Half the time, with my bifocals, I get it wrong and have to redo it, on top of everything else. Makes me not want to do it at all.

But I like your idea. There are so many things I probably should try and just let go of, too.

Thank you and you all have a blessed day, too! ♥

I also like the idea of weeding one's mind.

I sometimes get comments that have to do with escort services or other spam that don't go directly into my spam folder. I'd much prefer not to advertise their business on my blog!!!

Happy Sunday!

Oh Gail, THANK YOU. It's one of my pet peeves too. word verification and comment moderation? if you must, pick one or the other but both? sheesh. personally, I hate the word verification and i'm so glad you got rid of it. personally, I don't get comment moderation either. I know there are some valid comments from 'anonymous', I would get them now and then and I'm sorry I no longer let those in but 99% of spam came from anonymous.

I love the idea of weeding my mind. Lots of nasty stuff growing in there that needs pulled out and tossed into a pile. Thanks!

Many bloggers aren't aware of some of the things that seem to frustrate other bloggers. Gentle reminders are welcome. One of my followers posted last week on this and I was happy for the advice.

I've got lots of dandelions growing in my mind. I don't use a weedkiller either. As you said, they can be tasty and useful. They do provide color and a certain amount of charm. They do spread like crazy, though.

I think my mind needs a good weeding, too. And Sunday is a perfect day for it.

Thanks, Gail!

I think all of us need to weed our minds periodically. I enjoy reading your blog everyday and am thankful to consider you one of my favorite blogger friends. We have a lot in common.

I understand some of the blog frustration but I use the notification to my e-mail for the purpose to weed out any un pleasent comments that I have had in the past, people these days can get to anything in the web world and they arent all there in the head !Thats why I do it . Papa had someone try to hack his computer from the other side of the world so if they can do that goodness knows what they can get past ot leave on our blogs or websites lol Have a great day.

Every time I take moderation off my blog I get flooded with spam and even if I don't allow anon comments, I still get the spam. I still get some spam even with the moderation but I can just zap it to spamdom and not publish so that's what I do. Wish I didn't but won't give those spammers the satisfaction of using my blog to further themselves.

Word verification is one of my pet peeves. I can never read those suckers right and they can take forever to load sometimes. I'm with you on that one for sure. Sometimes I swear I'm going to do a list in my reader to seperate all the blogs with word verification and only read them when I have the extra time it takes.

Dandelions are good therapuetically for horses, so are nettles. I actually paid for those things when my horse was being treated for EPM. They helped to keep his liver and kidneys cleaned out from the crude that went along with the treatment. Good stuff those dandelions!!

I love dandelions. I encourage them in the yard, much to the husbands dismay. If one of our rabbits goes of feed, just a few dandelions and their appetite comes right back.

Well I think I fixed the no reply comment thing on my blog. I had help setting up my blog way back in 07 and I didn't understand it all, so that is how it has been all this time. I have been toying with the idea of removing the word verification thingie as well. Might just give it a try to see what happens.

Pretty flower pics! Still no flowers blooming here. =(

One of my pet peeves are people who do not put their blog or email on their profile. You can't respond to a comment or thank they if they follow. Then I feel like they think I don't care a hoot!!!

Whew, it feels good to weed your mind...thanks!

God bless ya and have a marvelous day!!!

Word verification drives me nuts..it is a waste of my time. I am thinking about not reading the ones that have it..IF someone is having a problem they can approve their comments without using the %^$# word verification. Thanks for the post Gail!! :)
