a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

My Sunday Walk...

It has been a while since I walked and explored. The morning was cool and perfect for just recentering and remembering what's important. Strolling to reconnect with nature, leaving all the stress behind and having nothing but enjoyment on my mind
I headed down the creek,
and saw this debris from the last flood, long ago.
The beauty in the small things was total pleasure.
The water is low from the drought.
The remains from the tornado, beginning to decay,
were an obstacle course for the dogs.
I continued to my favorite place,
Rock Hollow.
Saw poison oak and ferns, growly abundantly.
After a nice climb with only one stumble,
a few briar scratches and seed ticks,
I am centered, relaxed and sweating.
We climb Turtle Ridge
and head back down the mountain.
Arriving at the crossing, we enjoy the water as the dogs cooled and relaxed.  It was just me and the dogs but I didn't feel alone in my adventure.  I felt Dad was there every step of the way.

Love the beautiful photos and as well as your beautiful words.
Thanks for sharing your walk. It reminded me to get off this sofa and get outside for my own walk around the yard.

I"m on the road to mending and so very thankful.
Blessings to you on this lovely Sunday. Barb

Lovely photos looks like a nice place to walk. We have a river down the road from us and Papa , Miggy and I love to walk along it in the woods , it is soo nice to hear the nature and water. I to sometimes feel that my mum is with us as she loved to go for walks through the woods ! Have a wonderful Sunday eve.

You have such beautiful property, Gail. You're very lucky.
Thanks for taking us on your walk. :)

I'm pretty sure we have poison oak, too. I call it all poison ivy, haha. I am such a ditz. That would explain the differences I see in the leaf shapes sometimes, I think. Some is poison oak and some poison ivy.

Either way, as long as I know to stay away, right?

After a walk like that, I think I would be more centered, too. Definitely blessed. :)

Thanks for taking us along.

You were alone with the dogs? Who's in the first photo? What am I seeing?

Those are my favorite times when I can walk all alone, just me and the dogs,I can connect easily with nature and God.
And I also feel my dad's presence alot on this farm that he himself farmed for over 30 years before he died.
I think his spirit will be embedded in this land forever no matter walks on it.
Blessings
Marilyn

Thanks for taking me along on your walk. I feel more centered and serene just reading your words and looking at the beautiful pictures!

It does remind me that today is flea and tick treatment day for two of the dogs...I do my treatments throughout the month on different dogs so I have fresh treatment in the house all the time. Seems to work pretty well for me. :)

PS Ticks have been CRAZY this year here!
