I Watch Too Many Alphabet Shows...

and I'm not talking about Sesame Street (is that even on any more?)  I'm talking CSI, NCIS, SVU.  Shows like that pull me in not for the death and gore but for the mystery of who done it and how we gonna prove it.  I watch Bones, too.  Although not really an alphabet show, the title is short and only has five letters so it lands right after NCIS.

I love a good mystery and they are hard to find today without the gore so I endure gore for the thrill of the hunt.  Do you really think they can track spores that only grow in a certain place to find a killer...it stretches my imagination but it still pulls me in...hopelessly hooked.  Then I never remember the schedule.  I think I'm at least a year behind on most of them.  Thank goodness for the channels that have the reruns.

I don't do a lot of tv but that's okay.  I can catch up anytime.
The beauty of spring calls me outside.
The alphabet shows will be there when it's cold.

I get pulled in to the same shows for the very same reasons. AND I've gotten pulled into some that have been cancelled but I never saw them but that's ok because they're on Netflix! OH NO! So now I'm glad I have the garden to keep from Netflix. Did you watch 'Life' when it was on? And then I got into a little of the scifi (which I NEVER do) crime solving on Eureka! and Warehouse 13. Oh goodness, I do LOVE solving crime! Give me a mystery and I'm quite happy!

You are a girl after my own heart, Gail. Only, I watch the true crime shows: 48 Hours, Snapped, Dr. G, etc... I usually find that fact is much stranger than fiction. :)

Yes, Sesame Street is still on. ;o)

I like NCIS, too. For some reason hubby decided to stop watching it this year. So strange as he has been an avid watcher since its inception.

I also love The Finder - not an alphabet show, but I still like it. :o)

Sometimes we watch the Law and Order types, but usually as reruns.
We used to watch a lot of CSI, but got turned off by all the gore. The only one we (I) watch now, is CSI: NY.

Not sure what I'll do when we retire. Watch my shows on the internet, I guess. Won't be able to record them and watch them while Hubby is at work any more. ;o)

Happy Friday, Gail! :o)

Alphabet Shows on the tele haven't caught me . . . But reading a good mystery, intrique . . . I like! I was caught up reading Daniel Silva, Gabrielle Series a few years back. Best read in sequence . . . ten books.

I second Lynne's recommendation on the Silva books. They are all wonderful and must be read in sequence. I keep waiting for the author to bore me, but he does not.

I was watching all of those alphabet shows, too, but gave up on most. I think they depress me. I love NCIS, but that's about it for the crime shows.

Oh darlin', the alphabet shows are always on my watch list. I'd have to throw in a Castle and Unforgettable though. No wonder I dream in action films!

Heeehehehehe!!!

Beautiful picture sweetie. We've got rain today. I tried to mow yesterday and a push rod thingy broke. My lawn mower fixer fella retired and the other place says it'll take a week to get the part from.

A WEEK!!! With uneven grass!!! Bring on the straight jacket! :o)

God bless ya sweetie and have a marvelous day!!!

Hi Gail,
It's a little known secret, but I work for NCIS, so I live the msytery every day. I love what I do, I love the mystery. Only, we don't solve cases as quickly as they do on TV!

I don't watch any of those alphabet series but I do love to watch British crime series such as Inspector Linley. I don't watch a lot of American shows because they are all on the commercial channels and I refuse to watch them. It's a matter of principle. I saw enough shows interrupted by commercials when I lived in the States. I do like to watch crime specials and who done its. My grandfather was a policeman. Maybe I should have been a cop too.

I would love to watch the shows but I pass the remote over to you-know-who and we watch thrilling shows like House Hunters, Chopped and history stuff.
That's OK, my ADD makes it hard for me to 'watch' a show anyway. And, like you, I'd rather be doing something.
Enjoy spring!

i pretty much watch all of 'em, too. finally gave up CSI Miami as i couldn't stand Horatio a minute longer. but, yes, the CSIs, NCISs, Bones, Body of Proof, Mentalist, blah, blah, blah...

Well, I do try to stay away from them because I read the darn books about crime solving and murder. I am so glad when it is spring so I can go outside and play.
But I am sure, I would become hopelessly addicted to Alphabet shows if I had T.V.
We never converted our TV over so I am behind the times.
I do watch Grimm on Hulu. :)

I hadn't really thought of them in terms of alphabet shows before. I like that. Next NCIS marathon, I'm watching with a bowl of alphabet cereal.
