Iced with Tiger's Curse
And Water For Elephants
A week plus two with illness
And pills with allergic reactions
And probing needles
Finished by misaligned back
And pockets full of pain
Free style nonsense
Patterned after insanity
Lay on pages
Crying out to be dissected
And critiqued
Many will gallantly try to find
Beauty and balance in these lines
Of purely crafted nonsense
And say, "Oh, how beautiful"
While I ice pack my ass
Waiting for the pain meds
To kick in.
Chocolate
Caffeine
And Kindness make it tolerable.

Ice pick in the ass - ha,ha had to laugh on that one. Hopefully you will feel better real soon - a dose of kindness, a smothering of chocolate and the first caffeine kick of the day should help. Take care kiddo, hope you are feeling better today.

i was going to email you this morning, i thought something was wrong, my email is empty without you. so sorry to hear about all this... and your prose tells the whole story well and in a few words. did you hurt your back, were you pushing that wheel barrow? or building a barn, or climbing on ladders? I know you well.....

That is one hell of a poem. I like how nearly abstract you are getting, but still are getting reality across.
