Life in different in the country. Things that happen may be frowned upon but that's the way it is around here. We protect our livestock (cattle and chickens) which is our food source and our money.
We don't get many drive by shootings but we do protect and make it safer for our animals and us.
Lil and the team find a skunk.
See it hiding inside the tire?
Using a long iron piece to drag and flip the tire.
All the dogs have been sprayed by now
and are pretty set on ending this.
The tire is flipped.
Skunk removed by Lil
and the team jumps in to help.
Skunk dispatched quickly.
Good farm dogs!
These two try to remove the smell in the water garden.
Said all that to say this...
Join Two Shoes in Texas
for Tuesday's fun.
Word prompts this week are white and lies.

that is reality around here, too.
Nothing worse than skunks...well maybe snakes. Good dogs! :)
I wonder what dogs say about being sprayed on. Haha! Good team work ;o)
What are you going to use to get rid of the stink?
Well at least they got it. I am thrilled since I believe that it is a good day when a skunk meets it demise. I bet there is lots of skunk smell now though.
I was born and raised on a farm so I know how things work. Yes I do. Good dogs too, even if they smell to high heaven when they are done.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
Oh, we've had skunky days like that here but not since the eagles have taken up residency!...:)JP
One can pay a lot for that musk smell at exclusive perfume counters.
yuck skunk. Occasionally we find them out around the chicken house scouting for chicks and eggs. My dogs come home stinking too : )
We smelled a skunk in the area last week, but it wasn't any of the cats, so we figure it was across the street somewhere.
Have a great day!
They are just doing their job, and that is the truth.
There is a baby opossum living in our shop at present... and it's going to meet the same doom soon, as soon as Lilly discovers it.
Good dogs! Well, except for the spraying part! Blech!
Mine got a rabbit--wish he hadn't cause I do like the rabbits, but what the heck, it go in his territory!
He got a couple of mice inside the camper last fall--good dog!
Dogs protect and take care of their master and the masters property. Job well done team!!!
I had to look twice to spot that skunk in it's clever hiding place. You are absolutely right, life on a farm is very real, and not always for those with delicate sensibilities. You have to take care of business, and protect your own, so you do what must be done, and the dogs do their part too. Now as for that powerful perfume, did it wear off on it's own or did you have to use tomato juice? It's the only thing I know of that does a pretty good job of neutralizing the odor. I once had one take up residence under a mobile home where I was living, talk about that smell coming up through the floor vents at night burning eyes and throats. That one had to be eradicated too! I love skunks... from a distance! Did you ever read the story about the ones that used to visit on our deck to eat catfood? I nearly stepped on one, one night! :-))
I was raised on a farm to so I know exactly what goes on and this is just part of it . Good dogs now go and get a bath you stink lol ! Have a good day !
this is more like Truth and Tell not lies, this is life and the way it is... shoooooeee stinkeeee
You have some good farm dogs there! I was out on a date with a boy when I was in high school one night when a skunk suddenly appeared in the road. Before my date could swerve to miss it, we had run it over and I have to say that I have never forgotten that smell. It is a horrendous odor.
People drive by and shoot your animals? How horrible!
Those dogs won't be coming in the house for weeks...
Luckily there are no skunks in Australia but we have our share of baddies. Most of the baddies here are imported...me included!
Your post was quite an education.
I have "skunk watch" around here too. Brave dogs you have . . . does their bath time remove the "fragrance?"
Good Dogs - I was partly raised on my Aunti's farm, so know the value of a good farm dogs. Way to go boys, my Aunti would put a bunch of water in a big old tub in the yard and call them one by one - they didn't smell when they got out, but I'll be darned if I remember what she used. Some kind of home made soap - YIKES Gail - you will probably catch olde heck for this from the Skunk Association. Remember I said "GOOD DOGS" n hope they got a treat. Give Marcy a big hug, hi to all. lol
Good team work! : )
I say "good job boys!" I don't like them stinky stinkers one bit.
