Oh, I do love those last two lines - they lift the tanka beyond mere description.
It was interesting to go to Toad's site and read about Tanka poetry. I had never heard about it before. I think you hit a home run!

Gail, I had to chuckle about your THINGS NOT TO DO WEARING FLIP-FLOPS. FYI...never wear shorts when weed eating tall brush or those darn chiggers will eat you alive!...:)JP
