FOUR HORSES
Horses prance with grand feathered feet
Meticulously for the show
Owners hold reins and shout commands
In awe the spectators stand
Noses blow breath Dragon's smoke
Horses prance with grand feathered feet
Black coats reflect sheen turn as one
Graceful dance the beauty of the gods
A proud team as one raise hooves high
They circle they leap they woo the crowd
Horses prance with grand feathered feet
The black beauties steal my heart/soul
I float I glide horses my dream
Choreographed art brings tears
Of joy loving beasts forever
Hooves prance with grand feathered feet.

This picture is so beautiful and I am really thrilled you put it all to words in such a spectacular way.
PS. If I may suggest, you could swap the 3rd and 4th lines of stanza 3 in order to keep with the quatern form.
beautiful, and it describes the beauty i see in those spectacular horses... i can feel your love for horses in this one...if you find Scotty get him to beam you here and we can go see the clydesdales
You captured their power and beauty. Like the line with Dragon's smoke.
Only a lover of horses can bring forth this one so strong... black horses are really quite intriguing...
I loved the dragon's smoke . . . you describe these incredible creatures so well.
You have captured the graceful dance of these beautiful horses ~ Lovely work on the form as well ~

'The black beauties steal my heart/soul' ~ I feel it in every stanza, your love to horses. Love the horses of our dreams ~ Lovely poem!
You brought these beauties to life around the perfect refrain. Gosh. One read and I am back at the state fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY, being a kid again and mooning over horses.
A lot of power and restrained energy in this write--so matches your picture!
That really paints a picture for the reader and your love of horses shines through.

The horses of course are beautiful and majestic....and so are your words.
Very well done, Gail. :-)

I love those big beauties and your poem. xo
Nothing quite as grand as Friesian horses. And a team of four! Wow. Yes, I like this high-stepping poem very much.
Oh look at those proud beauties - your poem lilts to the sound of their prancing hoofs. Loved it.
Black beauties with grand feathered feet...Beautiful!
