I read recently that when you see a cardinal it's a loved one come to visit you. Whether or not that's true every time I see one I think of my mother who loved birds so much...and that makes me smile. :) blessings, marlene
Momma Cardinal looks pregnant to me. I had 6 Bluejays here at the feeder yesterday - n ya know what - the black birds and the seagulls down by the wharf know my car - I swear they do and I think they recognize me, for I take them a bag of crusts, nuts, bits of this n that mixed and once a week spread it on the lawn by the wharf. I can barely walk away for all the flapping of wings going on round about me, but it sure is a nice feeling. Sometimes I just stand there and watch n listen - they are not frightened of me - LIKE. Nice photo during the snow falling. Hi to everyone and a big hug to Marcy. lol
I'm not really a bird watcher per se but I sure am envious of all ya'll that have cardinals. They are the most beautiful birds. We have roadrunners(you know they are members of the cuckoo family?) and they are a hoot to watch. Trade ya for a pair of red beauties. Whatcha say?
I'm breathing deeply and think of spring and it better hurry up and get here!!!!!
Beautiful Cardinals, I've always wondered why we have small, and not bright looking Cardinals here where I live. Everyone around us (all the different states) have beautiful and full looking Cardinals.
Yes, I can and I do! Here where it is mostly dry and the dirt blows hard today, I close my eyes and remember the fresh crisp air of winter, and the fragrant air of blossoms in the Spring. I miss them both more than words can tell! Thank you for the delightful photo of this sweet feathered couple, who most surely wait eagerly for Spring as we do!

We've had a lot of cardinals around this winter. Maybe they like the cold?

I love the Cardinals! Looks like she may be asking her mate if this snow will ever end!
Lovely pictures today.
Great photo but is that snow streaking through the photo? I wish I had Cardinals but I enjoyed yours:)
Where one is . . . the other is not far behind . . .
What a lovely picture! ;o)
Such a beautiful couple of Cardinals ! Greetings :)
I can just imagine one saying to the other, "Just a few more sleeps and it will be Spring".
Ok, Spring has mostly arrived over here. I hope it gets warmer for y'all too! : )
