Learn from the prodigal* son
treasure lies in grieving
rushing water roars
Longing is but gravel
in a fast flowing river
wearing down with time
Hide not in a tavern
but fan the flames
of a home fire
We cannot find candles
that outshine the sun
so we return
Welcomed,
loved,
forgiven always
*prodigal- 'wastefully extravagant'

yep, our lives are lived in longing and the river of life just wears us down.
Ah, to the be the river - and not the gravel.
Pretty neat one, Gail. :-)
Very nice use of the words--flows very smoothly.
Really we should flow like a river and never get struck.
Great wordle ... chapeau! Bastet
Oh yes, that mighty river flows through us all.
Great use of all the words.

The key is to flow with the river and leave the stones behind...great use of the words.
I never thought of longing wearing down like stones in a river, but I guess they do, and what a lovely way to express it!
Biblical echoes here!
Ahhhh yes, that old river of life . . .
