the beauty in nature.
a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Me and My Feet
After my feet and I had burned a brush pile and grass burrs I'd picked, we took a Gator ride to deliver Tractor Man to his tractor in the New Ground fields.
It was warm for a run up the hill. I'm a softie so old lady Lil and Lizzy got to ride in the Gator seat with me. They'd run along with us and were so hot. We stopped at the creek. My shoes were quickly discarded.
We walked in together, the dogs, my feet and I.
The water was cool
It was clear when we entered.
Clear didn't last long.
The dogs made quite a splash and stirred up the mud.
The cow flies, mosquitoes and deer flies were feeding on us as we cooled.
Even though the water was low there were some good pools to chill in.
We even liked the mud.
My self portrait and the dogs were cool and happy as we reflected.

Whirligig
I've missed the challenge of Sunday's Whirligig. Each week a picture with words are listed. The words are pushed around, rearranged, and molded into something different with every one's take. This prompt is from Wednesday August 24th. I'm a little late. I always enjoy these. My self appointed goal is to combine the words using as few extra words as possible and still make sense. I hope I've accomplished that.
Senseless, harsh, silly songs cry out scornfully,
"Smite the old dreams!"
Absolution promotes dishonesty to silence forever
The serene infant that was our great nation.

Big Bonnie
You know her well. You may not realize she is the biggest dog we have. Thought I might give you a prospective.
My shoe...her track.
At over eighty muscular pounds she is BIG.
The dogs have taught her to play stick
and Hubby has taught her to pull him out of his chair...a service dog!
She can show expressions that have a human quality
Bonnie fills a Gator pretty full and has a pretty big heart too.
American Pit Bull Terriers are good dogs.
We do love our Bonnie who fits right into our farm pack.

Decimated
annihilated, stripped, destroyed...and the words go on.
My beautiful Cone Flowers were consumed
during the days of rain.
They even ate the petals on the flowers!
Yes, Alex, I know what kind of caterpillars these are...squished.

Babies!!!
Look closely
through the rain drops
through the water...
You can see my baby fish!
They are called Fry.
Is that because when they grow they are best Fry-ed?
I have two water gardens...one with Bluegill, a native fish, and one with Koi.
I do enjoy my water gardens. It's soothing.

SPIDER ALERT!!!! WARNING!!!
Hubby and I took a ride on the Gator to enjoy the beauty around us. We had a hitchhiker...eating lunch.
We drove through the brush and between trees and broke a web. This arachnid would not release lunch.
As expensive as lunch is these days, I do not blame the spider.
Far from its home it finally ran over and off the Gator.

My Love
Happy Birthday!
The love of my life and I have grown up and grown out together.
We've known each other close to a half century.
It certainly has never been boring.
He is my center.
I am his challenge.
Love you always, husband of mine!
