a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

This N That

Piece work patching done and the ancient smokehouse will weather another winter.
Doghouses cobbled together, scraps used, ready for winter.
Dog approved.
A work bench painted in a light color so dropped parts can be seen.
Equipment winterized.
In Aesop's Fables The Ant and the Grasshopper I like to think I am the ant.

Hello, great collection! I am never ready for winter, right now I am happy to be a snow bird in Florida. Love the grasshopper! Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

You are definitely an ant.

We haven't begun the winterizing yet....I could drain the hoses at the very least.

We were lucky the previous owners sided our ancient smoke house with steel siding so no maintenance required. I do need to clean it out like the Milk Parlor.

What a gorgeous close up of the grasshopper! A nice surprise at the very end. A good idea to paint the work bench light, I never would have thought of that. You guys know how to get things done! While still seeing the small delights.

Never did like those jumpy grasshoppers.

A very hard at work ant indeed too! This is the sad time of year when we gather up to store away while old man winter comes to visit! it's something Floridians have no idea about. Or those in Arizona for that matter! Oh sure they protect from heat, but hey we do too sometimes!

You are most definitely a Super Ant! :-) I am always amazed at how many projects you manage to accomplish/complete. I wish I had that kind of determination. The pups are going to love their cozy houses this winter, and painting the workbench a light color was extra-smart! Do you still use the smokehouse?

You, my friend, are the Ant Queen.

A smokehouse! Bill would love one of those. Just about everything is as it should be there. I know there is always work to be done. I am glad you find joy in it, though. You are an inspiration. Hugs.

An ant holds no candle to you. Your "to-do" list must be phenomenal.

Oh dear, you make me realize I need to quit hopping around and enjoying. Winter is on the horizon. Well done Mrs. Ant and family.

.....and in another tale, I am the rabbit :) Yep, winter stuff is done and you have a huge smokehouse. WOW. Nice photo of Andrew.....hiYa - I still have chores to do but had to wait for the sun today to dry out a bit. Folks around here have gone suddenly from fall jackets to toques n winter jackets.....and in a matter of days filled with heavy rain and high winds....all those pretty leaves have gone....sigh. Have a great day and hugz to M.
