The Feather...


lay where it had landed. 
The chicken was gone.
The hawk screamed in triumph
as he soared
not as high as he was before
now he carried dinner.

I assume you saw this tragedy happen. How sad. Although, it IS true - the circle of life, feeding chain, etc. That must have been a sight to see - the hawk flying with a chicken in it's talons! I once saw a bald eagle flying with a long snake hanging from IT'S talons, WHILE we were driving on the highway! LOL!
