a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

With My Bare Feet Planted Firmly...

I observe the early morning sky and draw my strenth from the land.  I can feel the earth's energy course through me, renewing me...and know that barefoot is the way to be.
The late calves have gone to market and the herd enjoys returning to the green of the spring valley.  The cows lowed for a few days but all is as it should be.
The horses look for fallen persimmons in the early morning sun.  This is a prized treat for them and sometimes we shake the tree where more will fall.

The sites renew me, and fill me with contentment as life continues At The Farm.

Beautiful! And you would fit right in here. My son and I don't wear shoes until we absolutely have to. (Meaning in public or when its too cold finally to be without them.) Barefoot offers a connection that shoes just screw up. :)

Ah...how beautiful! I think these are just the best days! October is my month I believe! :)

Your horses are sure getting treats! Chestnuts, persimmons--I want to be one of YOUR horses! :)

I agree that barefoot is the way to be.
Just watch out for fire ants.
Happy Tuesday!

Gail, didn't God make us a wonderful and beautiful world to strengthen us with thankfulness and appreciation!

I'm a barefoot girl, too, and stay that way most of the year until it's too cold. Even then at times I'll go outside barefoot if I need to do something quickly.

Have a great week!

I'm not too fond of being barefoot in the dirt, but I love to be barefoot in the soft grass!

Okay, now I'm really jealous...you have persimmons! I use to make persimmon cookies every fall for the hubby. We would get them from friends in CA. Now I refuse to pay the price they want for them in the store!

Beautiful shots!

I can remember taking the calves from their mothers, it was such an upset for a few days.

You know, you sure could write one heck of a children's book. Heck, it'd be just as good as a book for adults- such lovely pictures and poetic wording.

You really do draw the earth's magnetic energy in through your feet. Good for you!

I feel bad for the calves being taken to the market and for the cows lowing for them. Don't tell me it's all part of farm life.
