The ice still clings to branches
like a shy child holding onto a mother's dress tail.
Icicles grow.
Dog food bowls fly like hockey pucks
when I slide the food outside.
The stock is fed.
The fires are warm.
The cupboard is stocked.
We find the magic in the ordinary things.
We are blessed.

The icicles look cool.
Get those dogs some sticks and let them play hockey!
i'm sure it will break soon. we are in the 50s today and raining.
Love that second photo . . . and your thoughts!
I like the door and the birdhouse and ice dripping shot... here's hoping the ice melts soon
Winter can sometimes seem so hard sometimes but the beauty in it makes it all worthwhile...:)JP
The icicles look unreal
Those icicles are in such a perfect row you could almost believe they are man-made.

We have had snow and ice, on top of each other since November. A lot of subzero temps too. They say rain later today and tonight.
It's the simple routine things like that, that make my day special too Gail. Ahh
Oh man does that look cold!!
I don't love anything about these photos. Things look way too cold for ne. I think you deserve a warmer environment. And the dogs too. xox
Gail,
The ice pictures are pretty, hopefully it will warm up soon there and make it more comfortable.
Be safe, and stay warm :-)
Amen, Gail! ♥

Stay safe and warm

Wow! The photo of the icicles is wonderful! They are all lined up in a neat row, almost as if to impress mother nature with their orderliness! And better the dog bowls fly like hockey pucks than you! Stay warm and enjoy the magic of the ordinary things!
We had sunshine and temps up to 52* today! Most of the snow has melted...look for this weather tomorrow as well.
Like the pics....
You are indeed blessed--in more ways than one Gail--lovely write!
finding magic in the ordinary...not a bad thing...chuckling a bit at the dog bowl ice pucks...smiles...
awesome, but oh so cold, I love the warmth not the bitter cold and my body doesn't do well in the cold any more, good photo shot though.
Your poetry is exquisite--being prepared for winter can never be ignored.
