a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Always A Use For Everything

Hubby cooks.  Took him thirty years to try cooking something besides a hot dog or hamburger but he's pretty good.

This was ham and salad night.

We all were served and the flavor was wonderful.

I was in my sitting area with the door shut and keep thinking I smelled something burning.  I checked. Something was burning alright!

The kitchen, dining room, and hall were filled with rolling smoke.  I coughed my way to the stove.

The burner was on high.

The remaining ham was black.

My Paula Deen skillet was screaming in pain.  The spatula was no more.

The easy clean skillet was beyond cleaning but the spatula makes a great back scratcher.

Thank you, honey, the ham was great.

Credit to Tractor Man for learning to cook after so many years. Credit to you for preventing a fire.

Been there; done that more times than I care to remember, but since my laundry man doesn't cook, it is always my fault. I blame it on the computer. He tells me I cannot cook and play on the computer at the same time and he is right.

I've found out around here that a man in the kitchen means more work for me...not a break!:) Your last post, trip to the doctor, hit home too! Poppy will say,"lets see if the truck will slide", knowing my nerves are shot!

Did he think he turned the stove off and instead turned it to high? Can we blame hubby . . .

I hooted at there is a use for everything!
Happy scratching!

me to on the speechless part... love the back scratcher idea.... glad it was just the pan and not the kitchen or house...
yesterday my friend put a dry towel in the microwave to heat it up to wrap a block of butter in to soften it for cookie dough. she set the microwave on 2 minutes and left the room, the towel burned and destroyed the microwave. why she put a towel in i have no idea and why she did 2 minutes is beyond me.

I have trouble operating stoves too and once started an oven on fire, so I understand how that can happen:(
