a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Dreaming

I buried Andrew Wyeth
In a yellow field
I held my grandsons
Told them how I feel
I rode my horses
Once again into spring
I woke to discover
It was only a dream
Now I wonder
Why did I bury
Wyeth in his art?

It is amazing how the mind works sometimes. I like your opening lines - they do have a dream like quality.

i love this painting of his! i tried to find it in a print, once, and i don't think it was ever reproduced for mass sale. and the original was out of my price range! :)

Indeed, why did you bury Andrew Wyeth in his art? Lots of symbolism there.

Well, that was cute, caught me off guard. I admit my heart stopped when I read the I buried Andrew part then the Wyeth part, Scared me pretty good, thought I was going to cry so glad that I read the whole thing.
I love the painting.

I don't bury things I've lost...I keep them at my side...speak of them, enjoying them as if they were here!...:)JP

Again, anther beauty from you. You really should publish a book of poetry. You evoke emotion in everything you write. I like Wyeth, especially "Christiana's World". Remember me, Sandra's friend? I have been gone for so long, with surgery and things, but now I am back.
