I Got Nothing...

Tess at Magpie Tales presents a creative challenge each week.  I truly tried.  I believe my creativeness is on spring break.
Feast in the House of Simon, 1610, El Greco

Sometimes art sings to me
And fills me full of words
Although the painting's lovely
My eye went to the robes
Instead of guests for dinner
I see material for curtains
Strips for a quilt
Yards for any project
But then I'm filled with guilt.
I do admire the painting
But I can't forget the quilt.

I LOVE that you look at the painting and see the potential for a quilt. Absolutely love it!

At the moment I am stumped and nothing, absolutely nothing comes to mind! But you reached in and pulled out the quilt.... a really pretty quilt!

Sharp and sly; well done.

That is a really beautiful painting. I would have had trouble trying to write anything that wouldn't take away from it's beauty. Your twist on it was good.

Can't blame you- that's where my eyes went also! But you pulled it off-perfectly!

It must be one of those pieces that makes us think of something else. When I saw it, I thought of vegetarianism (I know, strange). And the way you cropped made me think of a storm in someone's dress!

"curtains," storms, "quilt."

You really don't have anything to feel quilty about.....or do you??

LoL......thanks for the giggle!

Haha. You did great, Gail!
And the quilt is more useful than the painting. ;-)

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

I love the way you see things, it makes perfectly good sense to me, and I do think it's a compliment to the artist that those gowns were painted with such color, light, and draping that the fabric seemed very rich and real. What a lovely quilt they would make! This made me smile, Gail thinking of ways to make something useful for her home. :-)

Just between you and me . . . I'd rather have the quilt.

For someone that said "got nothing", it turned out to be 'QUITE SOMETHING" - I hear you, when you say "Art sings to you"....every picture tells a story. Like :)

Nothing? I think you got something. You know, I think quilts are paintings. So I see it!

Susan Anderson said...

Your "nothing" is always worth "something" to me.
And this is no exception!

The colorful robes are the best part of the painting! And that quilt would be nice indeed!

Ah yes, I enjoyed this I chuckle, without one bit of guilt, hehehehe, and I will find a use for any quilt!

He did a great job with the fabric, didn't he? I'd rather sew it than paint it, myself.
