Poets United Women

I have many woman I respect and have influenced me greatly.  Some of them are in blog land.

I wrote this in the middle of the night not knowing this prompt was next.

SISTER MINE

The bones of her birthday dinner
Still lay on the plate

A teacher by trade
She molded young minds

Isolated by weather and time
She sat visiting old memories

The bones of the past resurfaced
And she smiled.

Visit Poets United.  Join the challenge and enjoy the entries.

I enjoyed this poem bone to bone. And then I wondered what she did with her students ... Ha Ha. I see that you admired this sister!

Interesting that you wrote before you knew about the prompt! As a teacher myself, I wonder what your sister taught and whether you showed her your poem.

I think it is a positive thing to visit old memories. It can be a most pleasant pastime really.
