Secrets

The ground held secrets
Shivering  in rows
Packed
With deep roots
Counting time
Mending
Planning to heal
Gathering strength
For the time
They burst forth
With a growl
Knowing secrets
Are never hidden
From Heaven

Enjoyed your poem and photo. I love moss and let as much grow in my yard as will. We can't keep secrets from heaven or the earth.

How very true that there are many secrets of nature hidden from our view.

This poem is just beautiful! It is the very essence of the beginning of Spring. I have printed it, and can I ask you a question? I am a deacon and manage the prayer request line at our church. Can I recite this on our prayer line? I sometimes put on devotions, poems, and trivia. I know everyone would love it. I will give you full credit if you give me your last name, otherwise I can keep it nameless.

This is true - 'never hidden from heaven' - we too. ~ Nice take at words.

I think Willow forgot a word in her comment, the lamb would no doubt say Baa! (or was it Bah?)

secrets in the ground with deep roots... yes, let them get their energy and burst forth. No secrets in heaven for sure. Great message and nice image that you paired with the poem.

Secrets do go underground, don't they? And they don't always come up pretty.

Love the ending especially--so true that Heaven knows all the secrets.
