a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Pushing Stumps

On a farm you never get done with cleaning and clearing.  Trees die, tornadoes blow them down and ice storms break them.  It is a continual job with much satisfaction.  You can measure your work by the piles of debris.
One stump plagued Dad for years.  Den finally got it out.  Another stump defied his powerful pushing.  It was a cedar.  The red heart center is the strongest and oldest growth.  We use it for fence posts.  This cedar stump will set some more. It refused to move.  Notice the bright red of the splinters.
The pile grows slowly
as the Dogwood flowers
and farmers work on and on.
Happy Easter.

I had a wicked stump I couldn't get out in the back yard, so I chipped the center out and put in some earth and a lovely bed of flowers grew year after year till the whole darn thing rotted and fell away. Have a wonderful feast on Easter Sunday and praising all that you have. Hugz to dear Marcy. lol Lilly

Happy Easter to you Gail!
I love seeing all of the work you do, it is as you said, never ending. The list of things to do or fix I think is getting much longer than our strength. :)

Hubby is starting to get tired of doing everything by backing up. We looked at a Kioti about the same size as our sub compact Yanmar Cub Cadet.

With a bucket loader.

Have a wonderful week! ♥
