Freezing Friday with Fence

Thanks to wonderful friends this post is here and connected to fences.  As one friend pointed out to me, Murphy (as in Murphy's Law) is having a time at our place.  Hot water heater out, bought a new one, it's bad.  Have to return it before the roads get worse. Computer's in and out.  Lost our water pump because a salamander climbed inside the working parts of our pump, then I think the water froze. Water is restored but it's not far to haul. Slick as snot outside.  Schools have been closed all week. No mail all week.  Neither state nor county have the equipment to handle this mess.  It is not measured in feet here but the danger is just as bad since no one knows how to drive on ice.  More ice coming...and they are giving a possibility of tornadoes Saturday.

I will try to answer emails when the computer is not in and out.  Have a blessed day.  Thank you, friends, for being there for me.  Stay warm and stay safe.
Winter made it with an inch of ice balls
and a little snow.
Yard fence
and fence wire.
Stay warm and safe.

The icicle twisted with the barb wire is a real unique photo. I like the Wagon wheel as wagon wheels always look great up against a fence post. I have mine resting on the back fence. An inch of ice balls - WOW - that is a lot. May you have a wonderfully warm day.

Do stay warm....cold here today too. Woke to 19 expecting more weather today on top of the 9" we received the other day. Turning to freezing rain at some point...glad winter came but ready for it to be done now. Mtn Man doesn't do well stuck inside for days on end!

When I hear about how cold it is in your neck of the woods, it makes me shiver. My blood has gotten so thin than I'm cold at 35 now! ;-)

A salamander crawled in it? What are the odds?
So you might have snow tornadoes tomorrow? Fun!

Boy, you must put clean sheets on the guest bed & give Murphy 3 meals a day for him to stay this long! Ice scares the beejeesus out of me.

Looks like Murphy has moved in for an extended visit with you all. I'm watching these tornado predictions closely. It's bad enough the threat hung over us all spring and summer up into the fall last year..now they are trying to happen in winter, too.

Goodness, you have been taking a beating. Maybe you are getting your year of bad stuff all at once. That should mean a peaceful rest of the year.
We are still below freezing but so far no moisture. Maybe we will dodge the bullet. Toes crossed.

Gosh trouble travels in threes and more, so sorry for you all! How horrible to have everything go bonkers at the same time! I'm hoping it all gets better. Your snow and fence posts (especially the last one) are like artwork! Hugs.

I share your dislike for this ice. In my lifetime here in WNC I have never seen this much just ice on the ground. I have done more crawling than walking this week when I have to go outside to feed the animals. We too are under another winter storm warning for more falling precip. I would wish for rain but that will surely make things slicker. Guess I'll let mother nature choose which type precip we need !!
We will probably need a new outside unit for our heat pump. When the house fires in the wood stoves went down early this morning the heat pump must have kicked on and with over an inch of ice on the fan blades it vibrated almost off the little stand it sits on so we don't know how much damage that vibrating did and can't tell until the ice melts.GRRRRR!!!
Stay safe and warm
Blessings

Wow, I hope you get things taken care of and no ice does come nor tornadoes.

In the midst of all that chaos, you still produced a great barbed wire shot. Well done.

Tornadoes on ice, goodness gracious! Stay safe, dear friend. I hope this mess passes soon. ♥

Oh, dear! I know my friends in the Carolina's have had a terrible time, but I didn't realize you guys were in bad shape, too. It sounds terrible!
I hope things all warm up and clear up soon.

Yeah, ya'll kept the power. We began Mon. with about a half inch of ice, topped with a foot of snow, sprinkled with another two inches, thunder ice last night (held my breath on that one) to rain and freezin' rain today.

But...we have power. Woohoo, 'can handle 'bout anything if we keep the power.

Poor Hubs has had a time and a half just tryin' to keep the cattle fed. Stuck 2 4wh. drive pick-ups. Gelled up another in the cold. Front tire came off tractor. Gotta love farm livin'...huh???

Have a warmly blessed weekend laced with hugs and an abundant flow of hot water!
