a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Like A Rock

Hubby drives a Chevrolet.  We live down a long winding dirt road so a clean vehicle happens but not often.  WARNING:  Objects reflected in tailgate may be closer than they appear (self portrait).
Andrew drives a Ford and I drive a Chrysler so I guess you might say we are diversified when it comes to vehicles.

If you didn't know I like rocks, you do now.  Like a rock is just an excuse to show more rocks!
Even in the deep woods dirt daubers build nests.
Rocks aren't just a thing of beauty to me.  They are an open geology book. This is a solid rock but the weaker parts have worn away leaving it with a deceptively pebble-like surface.
I have too many questions and not enough answers.  Why is this one rock's surface so different from its neighbors?  They are all sandstone.  I probably will never know the answer but I keep asking.
One rock with three flat surfaces rising above the rest.  What geological event caused this rock to be created or eroded a grain of sand at a time?  I may never know cause the rocks aren't talking today.

Dang dirt daubers...they latch on everywhere.
We are Dodge folks here, shifting over from Chevrolet about twenty years ago. If you don't have dirt road dust you aren't country. LOL!

I wish the rocks COULD talk. I am especially crazy about petrified wood. Does that count as a rock? I have a couple of amazing pieces of it.

At this time of year it's hard to find a clean car or truck. We're Chrysler fans over here.

You need no excuse to talk about rocks. I love it when you show us your finds, and adore the questions in your mind. Now I want to go rock seeing. I'll have to wait a bit... it's snowing at the moment.

The self-portrait made me grin. ♥

I used to live down a long gravel road, and it was next to impossible to keep any of our vehicles clean for any time. I could wash and wash the truck and by the time we got to the highway, it was covered in a layer of dust! Oh the joys!

I don't think my sports car would like your driveway.
What do you mean the rocks aren't talking? Tie them up and make them sing!

That's a rock, for you....never talks, doesn't have to go outside to do its business, doesn't bark, doesn't have to go to the vet. They make great pets, for sure!

Rocks and really old trees leave me a bit in awe with the mysteries they own. I admire persons who can look at a bluff and can read history.

We do prefer American made cars. Right now we have Fords at home.
Of course, God makes rocks and they are awesome no matter where they are from! The natural history is priceless!

Rocks never talk to me, either, darn them. I'd like to know what they'e seen as well as how they came to be there. :-)

Stay safe and warm! Go bless. ♥

Pondering it all is the best part . . . wondering, no answers, speculating and discovering . . . enjoy!

One can never have too many rocks. Or stones or automobile flavors either! Funny thing about dirty vehicles, it's so the thing with a dirt driveway! Hehehe.

I like your rocks. I used to see a lot more of them in Wyoming than I do here. Guess that's why this is such good farmland.
