The Journey To Write

From a place no longer there
With people who no longer are
I journey into this world
                   into the light
   Free from the darkness
               I begin to write

Writing always takes the writer (and the reader) on a journey, I think. I enjoyed your poem, Gail!

This is so true. Through writing we can, journey back to "a place no longer there With people who no longer are". Indeed, I know of no other way to get there. Smiles.

I begin to write.... that is the key isn't it? Just begin and the poem starts to flow. Lovely poem

I like to write when nobody else is around sometimes, but I've come to terms with dealing with the racket behind the screen. Never know, sometimes a single noise or something someone does might trigger an idea.

I like short pieces that have a lot to say. Made me think about my own journey through writing.

The beginning of your poem reminded me of a woman I knew. Whenever she looked at a photo album, she pointed out those who were no longer here. I also liked how you ended your poem, Gail.

There seem to be ghost places and ghosts that show up in our poems or bless our work because we are free of them.

May the words increase the light,
fill your heart with soothing music,
with love, with smiles, with delight...

And when the darkness does return,
let it be only for balancing the bright.

May there be love,
ever-growing laughter,
and hope that is always might. ♥

Nicely done. I've written before about muses and writers block. Strangely they've brought me into light.

I enjoyed your work!

p.s. - I too am a farmer!

Lovely poem, Gail. As we choose to leave behind us those things that we no longer need or can abide, a bright new world develops and ready to explore - with the pen, why not?
