a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

We Must Remember

we are different, yes
we change, yes
we are what we do.
we must hold on to that
if we lose that last spark
of humanity
then we become THEM
and we have lost

To Honor Those Lost in Senseless Tragedies Around The World Every Day

I seldom have writer's block but most of the time I do feel unworthy.  Many pieces have gone into the trash for that very reason.  I feel I am good at some things but not great at anything. I think maybe it's a problem many have to a certain extent.

This is the most honest paragraph I have written in a very long time...Thank you.

Gail--this is certainly true--we can't get dragged down to a level of simple reprisal--pretty scary though and difficult. Thanks for participating. k.

We must try... we can never turn our sorrow and anger into hate... we must live and enjoy the freedom that they hate

YES! I adore that you did this!

Thank you for writing that paragraph. My last year took a huge toll on my creativity and my inspiration. I'm back enough now to want to remedy that and trying to figure out how.

P.S. What I meant to say was: You are not alone.

Beautifully done, both the verse and the paragraph that followed. Absolutely honest and right on the mark. We can't reduce ourselves to being less that what we were created to be, less than capable of acknowledging our tiny part of humanity as a whole. We also can't reduce our worth to being mediocre, since none of us really is. Yet if you ask most people what they do well, they would come up with a very short list if with anything at all. From my perspective you have many gifts, and I love the many ways and things you cobble together to enhance your life and it's beauty. Most of all, I thank you for sharing it with us.

Your honesty says so well what is being thought world wide. This surely brings light to the evil the world has tried to be so p.c. when talking about the violence.
Oh, dear God, those poor people and their families!!

Some of the best things we write are the most bare and simple. Here you present us with a condensed and clear vision that is stark and unavoidable in its truth, yet full of compassion.

No one can be good at everything...the important part is the trying and the learning.

I imagine you've heard the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none." As long as you have fun, or as Delores said, try, I think that is all that matters. :)
Very good job, Gail. ♥

This is the best poem in response to the latest tragedy that I have read. Thank you, Gail. Yes, we must hold onto that last spark of humanity. I just wrote on the same theme, but not as well. Because my hope is wavering. And I have always been the most hopeful person you might imagine. Sigh.

Yes the task is to keep hope alive

The majority of us dance around the periphery of Life; so never fear you're not alone...

What is important is we try...and so many times we get the steps right, and then we dance in tune with the rhythm...

The evil actions of others knock the wind out of our sails; we gasp for air...but we must pick ourselves up...and not let them get the upper hand...

Keep dancing...keep trying...let the light shine brightly upon you...don't allow yourself to be defeated....keep tapping to the melody of Life.

We are what we do. Or what we don't do.
Then come gradient and modifiers to distinguish.

We are all different that is so true, and if only we could all just live with the idea of making good, and no harm to anyone or any thing.
