He Passed The Test

Hubby cannot weld because of his ICD they installed in his chest a couple of years ago. It's been difficult and frustrating but we have a new welder, Andrew.
It was extremely hot!  Welder leads added, battery jumped and the welder/generator roared to life.
The next generation of farm welders went to work with Papa's instructions.  Hubby stays far away since the welder can affect his ICD.  So far it has not gone off but don't want it activated by welding.
Andrew donned the master welder's equipment and went to work.
Papa/Hubby gave him an A+
and mentioned how much MORE welding he has to do.
Good job, Andrew.

Gail,

Fantastic job Andrew!!!! There's great money being a welder.

This is wonderful, Gail. Congratulations to Andrew! There are some good jobs that pay great money for that skill, should he want to do it.
We know how your hubby feels. Mine can't weld any more either, for the same reason.
This will help you a lot. ^_^

Good for Andrew! A lot of pride on both sides I am sure. It's awesome that Andrew wanted to learn and listened well to his instructor, I have no doubt that he will find himself in high demand to help with those never-ending repairs. :-)

Looks like Andrew knows his job.
During my apprentice days, I have tried welding (both Gas & Arc) and I know how difficult it is.

Way to go Andrew. That is a skill he can use through out life. I can't be around an arc welder either due to my pacemaker.
