I clipped and sawed and piled so we could reach the feeding dock and rebuild it. I pulled old logs from mud and clipped new limbs for my brush pile.
The brush pile, left for wildlife habitat, grew
as the area began to be cleared.
Hubby showed up FINALLY with the big equipment but I couldn't watch. The bank is small with a drop off on one side and water on the other. He certainly made a bigger showing than I did.
Removing these dead limbs and logs along the drained edge
got me bogged down a few times.
These boots were tired when we stopped for the day.
Next comes muck removal, feeder repair, and rebuilding the dam.
The fun has just begun.

always a good team...
I shuddered when I saw Den on the tractor on the edge. you are amazing and amazing and amazing. no wonder the boots were tired... and all that work left to do... I have to go rest just from reading about it
I hope you are completely snake free when you are putting everything back together. I do not like cotton mouths or copperheads.
I am glad you have your snake removal team on standby.
I would be not watching too. I have to go hide my eyes so much sometimes. Have a nice week Gail.
Oh my gosh, he is on the very edge! No wonder you couldn't look! You amaze me.I want to know everything you eat and drink so I can have your energy and enthusiasm! The difference between the first two pictures is really apparent! How long to you expect it to take?
Looks like you have tackled quite a project! And you got your pretty boots all muddy as well.
I want what you are having so I can get some work done here. You really lowered that pond to work on it. Those are cool boots.
I honestly think if you quit working hard your heart would just implode from the shock! This is a hard job, and a sticky one, but you will be so happy with the results when finished. Don't forget to show us an "after" picture! And tell the hubby to quit showing off with those fancy toys and living on the edge!! :-). xoxo
That is a big job. Bet you love that mud!
That must have been pretty scary watching him do that.
Looks like your boots wink need a wash, you both did a great job!

That's a lot of work. I'm sure most people wouldn't bother. What would happen if you didn't do maintanance?
Your showing was as good as his! You did yours by hand. ;-)
Be careful in your work and have a blessed week. ♥
Pink Boot Brigade and her "side kick!"
sounds like hard labor
You two are so hard-working. And those boots have been through some stuff!
=)
Goodness that looks like it was a lot of hard work. Getting stuck in the mud doesn't sound fun.
If your boots could talk, just imagine the many things they could share!
You've been busy, busy as a bee!
I wish we had land like that! You really make a great team.
