a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

This N That With No Pictures

Either my computer is crazy or I am.  I try to upload a picture and it says, site had exceeded number of times to retry.  Any computer experts know what is going on?  Is my computer too full or my blog have too many pictures.  I am lost, as usual.

I must show pictures, perphaps I show too many!  My words are never good enough to describe what a picture can say.

The weather has been dream weather.  Things are growing like crazy which means soon our maintenance will not break even with the growing.  In the pastures, this is good.  Not so good in the yard.  Every thing Marcy has planted has come up so we will be blessed with food and flowers.  I even planted some old dry butter beans from a bag to cook and every one has come up!  I don't even like butter beans...hubby does so hope he will enjoy the fresh ones when they come.

The flowers are stunning and I WAS going to share some of those but I will have to wait and see what my computer problem is.  In the meantime, you are stuck with only my words.

After six weeks, my voice is here more than gone.  I still cannot hear well but I think I am getting the best of this unnamed crud that has dominated every moment of my life for so long.  I shall miss it when it is gone.

The horses are shedding their winter coats quite nicely and are getting their summer shine.  I love it!  I spent yesterday evening scratching, brushing, hugging and loving them.  I still think the best smell in the world is the smell of a horse.  I buried my face in their necks and did get my daily hit of that lovely smell.

For those horse experts, I have a bay Arabian that seems to be dappling...is that possible with a bay horse?

We have a new baby heifer, doing well.

Hubby is donating a bull to the school to raise money for the new PA system for the sports field.  The bull have been trimmed and photographed and chances will be sold to win him.  I hope he raises enough money to pay for the entire system.  Hubby would be so proud.

Work, sadly, beckons me and I must heed the call.  One of these day, it will no longer call and I can spend my entire day At The Farm.

Horse smell is oh so good. I used to love being in the stable when we had working horses on the farm when I was young---best smell in the world, but doubt if all will agree!!

Blogger changed the picture uploader but I could still post them. Maybe your picassa web album is full. that's where blogger keeps the pictures you post. other than that, I have no idea.

Maybe blogger had a glitch and it's not you at all. But this is a fine excuse to buy a Mac and be done with computer headaches. :) I'm glad to hear that spring is in the air.

Oh, I don't know Gail. You can paint a decent picture just with words.

Perhaps you've exceeded the amount of free space blogger allows, or maybe it's just a glitch.

Where are you putting your photos? Are they just on your computer or are they loaded into a photo program?
Maybe you are saving them at too large a size. Sorry I can't help with that part.
I have had lots of photos over the years on my blog, some from Picasa and some straight from my computer and have never had this problem.
I agree that maybe your online photo site may have too many pictures in it and you have exceeded the limit allowed for free.

Gail - I'd say you did a wonderful job without the pics...but do miss the pics...

Your words say it all Gail. I've heard several who are using new blogger havin' to switch over to old blogger to post pics. It's not just you but I've found when I have a problem it doesn't do any good to contact blogger.

Hope they get it all straightened out.

God bless and have a terrific day!!!

Gail bay horses can have beautiful dapples, the best dapples are on a bay butt ;) IMHO. I do love me a dappled horse, but I am partial to bays.

I am totally clueless on the picture problem. When you get the picture thing worked out, it would be cool to see your bay's sweet little dapples :) No pressure!

Great post, even without pictures. My dad was a horse man. He raised quarter horses and they loved him. Not me so much as one tried to hurt me so I shy away from them. Hereford cattle, oh how beautiful and curly are their faces and oh so gentle.

Have a great day!!!

I think your Picasa web albun may be full. You could try tossing out some of the older pictures or you'll have to buy extra space. I think that's possible. I'm not exactly sure how it works, though. When you upload pictures, it says how much space you have left. Go to your Google account and look under Picasa.

Hi Gail,
I have looked at your blog for a very long time without commenting...but felt I should tell you the exact same thing happened to me with pictures and blogger and I had to buy more space. As far as deleting your photos in picasa to make room, DON"T...because the old posts with those pictures will end up having no pictures in them. When I deleted the pictures disappeared off my blog. You can try using smaller pictures, but I would just buy the space once a year and be done with it. Contact blogger and ask them.

With that being said I like your blog because it's about farming and horses and chickens, etc. etc. I grew up in the country next door to my grandfathers farm and enjoy seeing these kinds of blogs.

Have a great day and I hope this helps solve your picture problem.

Hi Gail, Some people are having problems..you are the fourth person that I know of. Go into your settings..and under Global Settings check the old editor and see if it makes a difference. Save your changes and then go completely out and come back to the program again..
No one that I know of got that message..the retry one..so I hope it disappears for you!
I love the smell of a horse too..your flowers sound lovely and I am glad you are ridding yourself of that cold that has been hanging on:)

Hi Gail..I found this..
The Upload function in the new post editor is currently not working for a small subset of users. We're looking into this and will post and update as soon as we have more information to share.

In the meantime you may revert to the old post editor if you need to upload images. Thanks for your patience.

Your farm sounds wonderful. I have never been close enough to a horse to know if they smell good. Sad...I know. Blogger has done that to me also in the past. It is temporary...

I haven't had any problems loading pictures (knock on wood), but I've learned a whole lot from your readers here on what to do if I DO experience any problems!

You never seem to be at a loss for words if you don't have pictures. I wouldn't worry about it!

If I had my characters say those things in my short stories, everyone would know it's fiction. But those were real statements, huh? I love it. Colorful, interesting characters.
