To Kill A Snake

takes every one.
The gang works together.
This is a needed service by our farm dogs.
Copperheads and Cotton Mouths are poisonous.
Black snakes eat the chicken eggs.
If the snake is not a threat, the dogs are called back.
The inspectors show up,
approving the job
takes every one.
Good dogs!!
Good horses!

Good dogs! A real necessity indeed. But I have never seen a horse smell a snake, great shot! :)

It's interesting to see the horses' fascination with the snake.
Do your dogs kill the poisonous snakes without getting bit?

Your post made me laugh! lol It reminded me of all of us when we see a snake and trying to either kill it, identify it or let it go. lol I help manage a resort in Florida and we see snakes on the property several times a week! Lately we've had an issue with water mocassins down by the lake. I'm really loving your blog and it reminds me of home...i moved to Florida last year and left my 5 acre hobby farm behind. You got yourself a new follower. :)

I love that your horses have to approve the work. ;-)

Blessed day to you all, Gail!

Forgive me Lord, I've heard all the arguments on good snakes/bad snakes but this is one gal who believes all snakes are evil!

If they know what's good for 'em...they stay outta my path! :o)

It looks like ya got a great crew to help with snake control there on the farm!

Have a blessed day sweetie! :o)

I think that is so good your animals know what to do. I hate snakes and If I had the ones you do I would call the dogs first and ask questions later.

Oh I get shivers looking at a snake- so yay for the Dog Patrol:)
I may dislike our cold weather, but I have to say I don't know if I could take the heat and get snakes with it....(shudder)
:)

I. Hate. All. Snakes.

I am curious, also, about the dogs' ability to do this! I honestly did not know they were equipped for this. How about a post of enlightenment for us?

We had a dog that would kill snakes when she came across them. Sadly the last snake she tangled with was a rattlesnake and it bite her several times and she did not make it! =( I felt such horror and helpless, but she was protecting her people and territory and she did it well and the snake did not survive either!
