a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

A Walk

A WALK
Are you sure you want to follow?
The water's cold and the rocks are hard
Are you sure you want to follow?
We will be leaving the safety of the yard

Are you sure you want to follow?
Lil's eyes said to me
Are you sure you want to follow?
Who knows what waits beneath the trees

I was sure to follow
Over ever hill and rock
I was sure to follow
Even through the gates that lock

I was sure to follow
Down the deep creek bed
I was sure to follow
Trusting I felt no dread.
We saw birds and cattle
We saw deer in a row
We saw our breath in the air
We decided it was time to go.

Love those eyes...of course you had to follow. Nothing like having a pal to take a scenic walk with.

Had to come visit another Gail...don't think we have met. I'm Gayle...

How gorgeous a beast is this, and the poem's not too shabby either... I have a wolf very much like the one pictured here (a brother from another mother?)...

My poem this week is up here:

Breath in the air - the essence of life and the hope of expectation. This is really expressive

Following a four-legged friend might be a blessing.

This has the feel and rhythm of a Mother Goose poem. It is charming and childlike. :-)

Love the poem. I just read "The truth about me" and knew I had to follow your blog. I agree with every word you wrote. Wish I could have written that! Thank you!
