At The Shop

People
One by one
Different
Than the last
Come to look
Walking
Down
Memory lane
They smile
And buy
Memories
That were lost
Or merely forgotten
We sell
The past
And the younger years
Are quite a commodity

For the challenge at Imaginary Garden With Real Toads.

"We sell the past." Cool. We older ones do harbor nostalgia for the past. I love looking at old things.

Very good. I love the way you say they are buying memories. So now maybe they will make some of their own memories with the things.

This does provide a snapshot of commerce, and so many memories are sort after these days.

All the work gathering things for the shop is finished . . .
Wishing you some sales . . .
Your words say it all . . .

"we sell the past" is just perfect. I love the feeling that this poem evokes. Warm, happy and worthy of the recycle the world thought.

Gail,
A shop that captures my heart, it's full of memories. Now that's a shop I must one day visit.

"we sell the past" How true. I think for some it is nostalgia, some history, some appreciating the beauty.
