Controversy

in a time
when America
is called no lady
words fall loosely
with rules
and extremes

'Bible thumper'
'clam head'
'Godless'
'infidels'
'nigger'
'rag heads'

the names
fly easily
and cover
truth
with
wet blankets of blame

So we all
can be shamed
into a slush
of political correctness
that keeps
no one safe

One country
of hu-mans
cannot tolerate
the truth
of
freedom

the tribes weep
the melting pot
boils dry
as the minions
follow the most recent
in a long line of injustices

until we know
all are the same
we will fight
and place blame
not on truth
but on the newly downtrodden

A name or no name.. a word. so much lies in the word. But the real issues are more disturbing.

You hit the nail right on the head, eh. Yep, political correctness is MOSTLY a buncha bullshit. I'm from Cape Breton, known as a "Caper", and across the water is Newfoundland, where people were always called "Newfies". We have always had nicknames, (rather names of endearment) and suddenly this band of paid govt workers tell us we can no longer call ourselves this - in the political correct world this is considered slander. Well the political correctness world can shove it up their ass. I can understand some words shouldn't be said - My Mom taught me respect FOR EVERYBODY and if most people had common sense, they wouldn't use SLANDER, but this is just going too far. Every town, village in our vast provinces have nicknames and now these well earned nicknames cannot be used. Call me a "Caper"- that's what I am.
Dynamite Poem Gail - well done, well said. lol

it is all so time consuming and mind blowing. We should all just be nice. Simple but true.

Let us celebrate the gift God give us together, the lord Jesus Christ..Merry Christmas and may God bless you real good, best gift I ever received was fro God, his only begotten son Jesus Christ, my Saviour and the one who took my sin away.

You are spot on. All of us are created by God and loved by God, and none of us are better than the next person, regardless of...anything...but there is so much evil in this world. It is a scary time in which we live.
