Crayons

Found a supply of crayons
stripped the broken ones for art projects
much more difficult than shelling beans.
and placed the unbroken ones
in a note card file box.

I remember saving the shavings when you sharpened a crayon.  You could make a picture and iron it between two pieces of waxed paper.  As the crayons melted it became even more magical.  Crayons can also be used when making a tie dyed shirt, where the crayon is ironed on, no dye will be absorbed.  I've noticed this year they have a machine called Melt N Mold.  Why didn't I think of that? Just in case Santa brings me one, I have my broken pieces ready.  If not, I will find a use for them.

I didn't know there was such a machine as Melt N Mold. WOW - I've got lots of crayons sittin' round that the kids use when they visit and I keep buying new ones and olde ones go in a box. I think I would like that machine too. Smiles n Chuckles to you n yours. Hugz to Marcy. I rcvd M's card in mail yesterday. What a nice surprise and a lovely thought. Thanks sooooo much M xoxo

My blogger friends come up with such great ideas that I have never heard of. Thanks for sharing this. I'll have to see if I can find a Melt N Mold for my grandson to use for his broken crayons.

The melted crayon shavings was always one of my favorite "stained glass" creators. We made some this last summer even. As to the Melt n Mold.....we had one of those too and it was....well a disappointment. Had to use it outside because it smelled terrible. I expected it to smell like my beloved new box of crayons....uhhhh, not so much. But if you want one, I hope Santa delivers.
Love this post. Linda

I still love to make those things with the wax paper and the crayon shavings.
I do love boxes of new crayons. If truth be told that is why I hook rugs, it is like coloring with wool and so is dyeing the wool. Just big girl coloring. :)
