Hubby asked, Why don't you get a good camera? Well, these were good cameras. I'm just rough on cameras. He finally convinced me so I took out a loan (not really, but almost) to get this little lady called a Rebel. Eighteen megapixels with two lenses!!! I personally think maybe the name had something to do with it, I'm a Rebel so therefore I need a Rebel.

I assembled. I played. I read. I played. I read and I played. This was not my wonderful little Cannon Power Shots that I have been spoiled too. Nope, this was far above that so I read some more.I would have all related information installed on computer but I await a call from the Grand Fixers of Alienware to totally strip my computer and reload every thing. I've done that once and it did not fix the Blue Screen Death throes. I don't think it will fix it this time but it's on their dime. So until that time, I will read and I will play.
My first picture was simply an accident with my tv on an old painted sewing machine cabinet. I thought what can I take a picture of since it's dark outside.
T'is the season for Asian Lady Bugs. When it gets warm in the house they appear out of thin air.
I found one
He posed
I found two.
Three lined up and I turned the heat down so they would return to their hiding spot.
Still have a lot of reading and a lot of practice ahead
but I think I can fake my way through using this camera.
Now if I could just figure how to eliminate these bugs!

hope you like it!
Sounds like so much fun. My hubby has a Nikon with all sorts of fancy lenses...I use my cell phone! Good luck with the camera and with the computer.
you did a great job on the bugs, looks like you have the hang of it already... doing what you are doing is how i learned to use my first Rebel. sit in a chair and aim it at any/everything and click away. i love the lady bug.. did not know they would come in the house.
Well, I know you will have fun with that. But, you do have to stay out of the mud & muck. These are not so forgiving as the others. I admire your patience with the lenses!
What a lovely camera, makes my mouth water and my fingers itch to use those lovely lenses.
You know I have never seen those bugs in my house until this year.
I wish mine would go back where they came from too.
It is just lovely Gail.

Nice camera....looking forward forward to lots of nature shots. Not bugs though.
Oh do have fun with your new toy, you little rebel!
Your new camera will eventually accept you once you understand its ways.
I am still discovering my, still reading the booklet. even bought an inch thick maga-book to study.
Those are great shots with the ladybugs! Enjoy your new toy. And remember to keep your hands out of the dirt.
You will love that camera. I have the same one. The best thing I ever did was to buy protective lens covers...rocketfish makes them. You should be able to get them at a Best Buy or some such store. I am still reading my manual it is dog eared. I got a small note book to take notes about settings...that really helps me with my old brain:)
I know bloggers who use the Rebel and take great photos. Good Luck. There's always a learning curve with a new camera.
Gail,
This is a great camera, you'll be very happy with it. I so hear you with fixing the older camera's, I have one which needs fixing.
What fun when to get a new toy. Take tons of pictures--isn't digital wonderful? No waiting to see what we captured. Enjoy.
Those blasted bugs are all over my guest house but they leave my house alone--for now.
Oh doll, I'm thrilled for you and your pictures are marvelous!!!
My sweet daughter in love is sightin' ladybugs in the old farm house. I told her they were good luck, may good luck fall your way too.
Have a blessed day and loads of fun with your new toy! :o)

We get those darn lady bugs everywhere, too. Annoying!

When you spot the first Lady Bugs of the Year, they are supposed to carry luck with them so yours is "threefold". Yes, the Canon EOS is a really nice camera. I have been looking at them as my old camera died some time ago and I use my iphone to take most photos today, but I would like to have one of these. My friend has one and he takes wonderful photos with it. You have made a great choice, you "REBEL" you. ha,ha
Lucky girl...nice camera! You will love it!!!
