Sunday Walk

You know I have to get my fix with an extended walk.  We had snow, sleet and rain Saturday with a killing frost Sunday morning and highs in the sixties during Sunday afternoon.
The tulips are wide open.
Grape hyacinths peek through grass.
The dogs played.
Along the creek I found the my first favorite large rock
and my second.
After a morning of laundry, dishes and dreary house hold chores, this was my reward. I did pay for it. I had to dig my shoe out of wetland and acquired a few scratches. Carrying a shoe, bleeding from briers, I walked to share my find with Marcy.  She thought the prize was well worth the trials.
The wild violets are beginning to bloom.
I believe Spring may have made it.

You do love your rocks.
Looks like one pup is about to be pounced upon.

I hope all these little flowers weren't nipped by the frost. We lost our blooms on the Mountain Laurel.

Yep. Definitely looks like spring. Good thing too, because it means autumn's coming my way. (It's been a HOT summer here.)

Photos tell a lovely story....but I think it is the enthusiasm between the words and pictures that is the true teller of the tale. How enchanting.........

It has been years and years since I have seen wild violets in bloom. More beautiful than I remembered.

It has been a roller coaster hasn't it? At least we can't say it has been boring.
Love that action shot of Bonnie, nice leaping capture. Glad you could share with Marcy. Hopefully her day to join you isn't too far off.

Gail
A few scratches would be worth your Springtime hike! So good to see Spring flowers-even if they're not mine.
