Crowned

Natalia Drepina

Autumn is close
hands still ashen
from summer fires
pick, preserve, ready
for winter's mire

Gather wood
to warm winter
nights a woman
crowned with work
but few delights

Hello, wonderful poem. I really wish we could put fall and winter off for awhile. BTW, I just love your header photos. Enjoy your day!

That is always something I dream about this time of year, the smell and the feeling of fall.
I love your words.

Another good one Gail, and yes Autumn (Fall) is getting much nearer now.

Oh I would be full of delight. Autumn is my fav time of year, and I love the nip in the air, the woodsmoke. There is much to be done though to prepare. Food to be gathered. Wood to be cut. To make sure you make it another season.
