a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Coming Home

That always sounds so good.  Driving the gravel road, nestled between the hills, I imagine the wagons picking the easiest path, dropping into this beautiful spring fed valley I have the priviledge of calling home.

I spy two deer feeding and they spy me.  This would have been a shot for Tina's camera.  I didn't make it.  Too slow and too shaky. I could not zoom without shaking like I was naked in an ice storm.

Maybe Lisa could have zoomed quick enough.

I love the analogy - "like I was naked in an ice storm." LOL!

You still did a great job! Love the fall colors, too!

I know deer are common, but I still get excited when I see one, better still when I see more than one!!

Where I lived in the hills in Sonoma, there were many deer, but I never got tired of seeing them. It was always exciting and magical. Like being in a fairytale.

I love the drive home too! We only see deer in the fall and spring n my part of the country. I would never be lucky enough to even get a shot!

I'm with the rest of you in never tiring of watching deer...They are in our yard every day, yet we still get up and get closer to the window to stand and watch. I love the way they pick up their feet to walk...such high steppers...so dainty.

You live in such a beautiful area and I love your pics of the deer with the fall foliage in the background. Your home looks/sounds very peaceful. What a blessing!

I love the rare occasions when I spy a deer close by, and there are areas out here where there are deer, but I'm glad they aren't coming into my yard as I have lots of lovely flowering plants I'd just as soon keep.

I agree with all the rest, I never tire of seeing deer or any wildlife for that matter. I enlarged the pictures and was surprised to see the deer in the first picture. They blended in with the background, and with my old eyes I just couldn't see them until I enlarged it. The trees are lovely in their Fall colors.

Oh Lord, erase that image from my mine. I am picturing you seeking refuge in one of our horrible firestorms in la' buff. Heeeheehe!

There is nothin' quite like coming home especially when ya'll are met with the beauty painted by nature and wildlife. (as long as their not freakin' the livestock!!! :) )

Have a super Saturday sweet Gail!!!

Oh yeh, I could have soooo zoomed in on those deer. Call me Quick Zoom McBoom! lol!

Even so, I think your photos turned out great! And I love the imagery to go along with them, too.
