a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

I Use To Bathe...

Under this large tree as a child. Either the creek has filled in or I was awfully small. I could not reach around this tree then nor can I reach around it now.

It seemed such a long trip to the creek but it is close to the house, not a five minute walk. We carried our towels, soap and clean clothes. We hurried because it was fun to wash in the creek in the warm weather.

We did not worry about snakes, because the brush was cleared. We did not worry about strangers because none came this way. We enjoyed the cool water in the hot air.

When we were finished, we bundled our clothes in the towels and trekked happily to the house, squeaky clean.

When I was a kid, I used to go visit my aunt and uncle in east Texas during the summer. They had a live creek on their property. I don't think I ever bathed in it but I spent many hours wading and playing in it.

Ah, childhood. The carefree feelings of freedom! I'm sure the creek just got smaller! LOL!

I can see that I have one more thing to add to my bucket list: bathing in a creek. It sounds like it was fun.

The last time I sat naked in a creek was 17 years ago, I had a good figure back then. I didn't mind if anyone saw it. The water was very clear and pleasant.

Wonderful childhood memories that your children and grandchildren can enjoy. Our well went dry one summer when our son was small and we would head to the creek to bathe and wash our hair. I wouldn't have call this a fun time but our son has fond memories of the creek bathtub!

Have a good spook night!

A great memory and now you live there as an adult. How cool is that?
