a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

Change Is Hard...

and something I really don't like.  The power poles that were replaced after the ice storm are now being replaced again...with bigger and better posts.  I wonder if they will be strong enough to survive a tornado.
Double steel poles were erected to replace the thousands that were snapped during the ice storm last year.  Thousands were without power for over two weeks.
Now they are back!
Polluting the valley with rock that is not native.
Promising that this small culvert will hold the volume,
having no clue what rain does in this valley.
They must build roads for big equipment.
They think they are doing us a favor.
Yes, the road is pretty now.
When the rains come the road will leave.
Scattering this ugly rock through our water shed.
I am going be pissed when that happens.
They will come back and pick up the rocks
that do not belong in this valley.

Water always wins in the end. It finds its own path and seeps around and through what we put up to hold it.
Here in the hillsides they knock down all the trees, build houses all up the slopes and then wonder why there are problems with our heavy rains.

Years ago they came through here diggin' and burying the telephone lines, I will never for the life of me understand why the heck they didn't bury the electrical lines at the same time. Think of all the money in man power and replacement poles that would have saved. The bury the lines in plastic pipe so critters don't chew through it. It's done all the time up north.

Have the best day, Gail!!!

Here everything is underground, but it's a little country. Does that have anything to do with it? Why erect them on poles? Is that a man thing?

Nezzy I am so agreeing with you! Our co-op came and sprayed right of way 15 feet on either side of the power lines and killed all our peach trees, defoliated them. I know it had to be done, I don't want to be without electricty or anyone else to be without but these trees weren't a problem and we loved our peach trees. I just cringe when I see workers come down the drive. Gail you just got some crazy stuff going on there. And it always seems to come in bunches.
