a tale of tails, tenacity, and tedium, as told by me, usually barefoot and bellowing

This N That

An appropriate title for this week, a week full of demands and reports...reports they asked for today and wanted last week. I am grateful I am closer to my day and a half off from work than I have been all week.

The weather is the kind you want to bathe in, cooler air, enough rain to freshen every thing.  The air is crisp and clear and clean and when you breath in, it seems to give new life and energy to the body and the soul.
I am only lacking in the time to enjoy it.

I hear the roosters greeting the dawn which has not quite made it yet.  The sky is still holding on to its darkness and that brings the sadness of shorter days.  Fall is in the air and I am wondering where the heck summer went!

I hear the shower as my grandson prepares for school and have yet to know the outcome of last night's game.  The game was away...far, far away.  I was leaving work about the time of the starting whistle.  I often wish I could carry the ball for him, do his homework or at least give him my wisdom of many years but I must let him grow on his own.  It is the hardest thing I have ever done and I have two more wonderful grandsons growing up that I shall have to let go of too.  Letting them find their wings will be a difficult job but one we all must do.

I have gained new followers on each blog and am delighted!  It still amazes me that someone finds what I write worth reading.  Thank you.

Off to the salt mines!  May each and every one of you have a day filled with wonderment and beauty.

Someone out there in blogland mentioned living life to the fullest so that we didn't wonder where the time goes...Each autumn is like that...where did the summer go???

I know just what you mean about the shorter days. While I appreciate the cooler temperatures, great sleeping weather and gentle rains, I miss the daylight. It's time to start carrying my maglite again so I can find an address at 6 PM.

Ugh.

Oh what a wonderful post.. Yepper those kids grow up and move away. Mom loved to watch brother Toph play football. Enjoy it while you can...
Yepper heeler's are quite vocal.. Gus starts it since he is the only hearing one we have. The Red's bark because Gus is. Of course the Red's have no volume control. Guess the vibration must feel weird to them. Of course Mom always says they can't miss what they have never had... (Ears that work)

Hope you get to enjoy your time off when you get it. ♥

It's still summer here. :/ Semi cool mornings, but mid 90s during the day. I'm waiting for the weather that lets me turn off the A/C and open the windows. :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm enjoying the autumn weather. Sometimes there is rain and other times there is sunshine. Both are welcome.

It's too bad that you only have a day and a half off from work. That's not very much down time. I think you need another day on top of that.

Enjoy your grandsons while you can. Growing up happens very quickly.

The days have been warm enough, but there definitely is a nip in the air in the evening! And boy the sun goes to bed early now!
