If we're lucky
Our first steps are
Hopefully into
Trustworthy arms
The next steps
Are guided
By loving hands
Keeping us from harm
Then we climb
Step after step
Planning our choices
Are charmed.
For Poetry Jam: Steps
and for my grandsons:
Andrew, Jake and Zander
May all your steps be true.

Love the photo, love the poem! Taking those first steps into arms that are loving and will guide us makes all the difference. Your grandsons are on their way and with you behind them I don't see how they can go wrong! :-)
By loving hands - hands that will always be there for us and to guide us. Great poem and full of love.
A perfect description of growing up!

These Hands.....Are Strong I know :-)
I bet the boy's don't look this young any more. Grand kids grow up so fast.
beautiful words, thoughts and boys...
Oh, the wide spectrum of steps we take in a lifetime!
Gail, what a warm and wonderful poem--I hope all those things for your beautiful grandkids too :-)
Touching poem...and I loved the message from Grandma, too.
=)
I love the different kinds of steps you wrote about. Warmly expressed.
Wonderful picture, Brilliant post.
Have a good night, Gail. ♥
My Mom' n Dad's waiting arms were always there, my older brother looked out for me - I had guardian angels keeping watch over me at certain phases of my life - I was very sick as a child and in hospital far from home and strangers arms opened to catch me as I remember those first steps when the body cast came off. I have been most fortunate Gail with the love and care in my life. I am most grateful and yes, I do give it in great abundance. The boys sure are growing and I can tell you one thing for sure - I will hear Andrew sing someday - that's my little faraway dream. This is a beautiful photo and touching poem. Hugs to you n yours :)
"Planning our steps will be charmed" means that we've trusted all along. That line is especially memorable! Nicely done, nicely presented. (Loved the photo of the kids!)
what a nice blessing (or charm) to give to your grandsons ... and to all children!
