Every day over the past month I've actually made an effort to really pay attention to the arrival of spring... And you're right about the yellow, but here I'd say it's the yellow and white that symbolizes spring. Beautifully and succinctly put!
Is the purple flower a penstemon, or locoweed? I used to sit in the pasture painting the locoweed with weedkiller, plant by plant! Funny that the goat doesn't care for it anymore.
I think I love wild yellow flowers the most (and then purple): Sunflowers, daisy things, brown eyed susans, yellow sorrel, and my favorite Goldenrod. But NEVER dandelions. Never.
That's why I am so fond of all the wildflowers that grow on the fields by my apartment despite the fact that the fields get mowed every once in a while. The smaller ones all survive the onslaught and the bigger ones grow back or are not cut down where there are trees or other obstacles and there are lots of them. Each year, the wildflowers gain more ground. I even like the lowly dandelion.

Purple and yellow, beautiful colors of spring going into summer.

We have a lot of yellows, too.
Very nice post, Gail. :-)
Me too! Enjoy your spring on the farm. I'm sure it's a busy time as well.
Flowers!! :)
just the colours and gestures say so much more than words.
So much joy in this combination. Such a happy poem!
Lovely photo to frame your lovely words. I love these two colors together in nature.
What a duet! :-)
I Think God put those two colors side by side to show us that He has a mighty big palette and brush and imagination.
Beautiful colors side by side.
