Thirteen for Poets United...

Thirteen days of rain in a row
Thirteen inches all told
Water had no place to go
Thirteen billion raindrops fell
While we watched
Creeks and ditches swelled
The old wives' tale use to be
Rain on the first...Rain fifteen
Didn't make it to fifteen
Our rain stopped on thirteen
With such abundance
The plant life grew
Not offended by the occurrence

Holy Crap - we have been bombarded with rain and high winds too. Hope you are all dry with no leaks - just lots of water, eh. Have a great day and hi to everyone - hugz to Marcy :)

Oddly, my plants were not offended either! So good to wake to sun for a change. Fun poem.

with the drought you went through over the past few years, i know rain doesn't ever offend you.. fantastic job of using Thirteen. would not have thought of this..

at 13 I lived in Kentucky,
I thought all other states were yucky.
at 13 i got my first kiss
when we moved away that is what i missed.

it is only like 5 days of rain here at this point...but it is brutal the amount and ferocity....

I love the last two lines especially! So glad the rain has stopped!

Thirteen days of rain would wear me out. I would seriously consider turning religious and start praying for sunshine. I assume that is what you did too. Xox

Well it rained here all week and today the sun has decided to show it's face for a bit. Enjoyed your flow of words..

I'm happy for all of it too. We had two, almost three years of drought and now that I have seen what happens in a drought, I won't ever look at rain in a negative way again! Just no tornadoes, or high winds!

Very nice poems Gail! 13 days really? I just can't even imagine that.

I imagine you are okay with it stopping at 13. That is crazy!
So glad you are all okay.
Have a blessed Father's Day Sunday. ♥

So often we seem to get either too much or too little!
