It has been that way here for almost two hard weeks with 107, 104, and 105 showing more days than I want to count. I'm glad I did not have a thermometer in the shop. I would have just died on the spot.
This past Saturday we received some much needed rain. Didn't last long and may be too late for plants that have gone dormant or died but it DID rain. We are very pleased.
Hubby and I were outside enjoying the possibility of rain when it hit. He stayed in the boat shed while I made it to the house.
We got wet. My camera got wet and all the dear dry plants got a small but appreciated drink of water. It was magic. Green seemed to appear over night.
Enjoy the sound of rain, if I did this correctly. May you all get just the amount of rain you need.
Today this is the photo I took while walking. I imagined, because I was wondering what the chance of another rain was, that this cloud plainly says 2% chance. May we have better odds than that.

Horrible temps for you . . . takes quite a toll on ones energy! Happy the rains helped a bit, and loved the 2% cloud . . .
We had those temps for approx 3 weeks and it was not nice, however; we did make it through it. Yesterday and last night we were bombarded with severe thunder storms and large lightning - really creepy and of course heavy rain. Glad you all got a drink from Mother Nature except Den, who stayed in the shed. he,he Hi to Marcy n Family :)
Wow Gail...and I thought it was hot here in KY!? I hope you get some cooler weather soon :)
Now that is Africa hot. Glad you got some rain. We've been really warm here. I guess summer is going out with a sizzle.
I love that first picture and the video of the rain storm. You did good! I could listen to that over and over. It feels so good to get that much needed shower. That was a hard rain!
hi from the friend in Florida with the incompetent AC repair man, he came back at 7:30 am with his boss and they found the part it needs, the left 40 minutes ago to get the part, no idea when they will be back.. we are alive and not quite well... we were doing a rain dance for last night, did not work. i did listen to YOUR rain and it sounds good...
The main thing I miss by living in Texas is the frequent sound of a thunderstorm and the rain. When it rains here, I run out on the porch to listen.
oh, congrats! we got 1/2 inch last week and it was GLORIOUS. we need about 3 more to go with it to heal the earth, but still, it was hopeful!
We got 2 1/4" of rain all in one day...it was lovely! it has been raining off and on since....
Wear the air, I like that! You sure had some fun rain and all, goody for your thirsty plants too. Love that boat shed is it? Very cute. I did listen to all the rain, even though we recently had far too much again!
We had a 20 percent chance of rain, and it didn't happen. I would love some rain, ship it this way.
That heat for that long is rough on every living thing...glad you got a little rain to help though...:)JP
I don't know which is worse, the heat or the humidity. We got a very brief and very tiny amount of rain today. .10 LOL! Just enough to get the steam going good.
We've also had some hot ones this week. But we have a promise of rain for the weekend. They lie. The rain won't be back until the State Fair starts the week after that. It's the law here in these parts. No one expects to go to the Fair and not get soaked.
Your video was like a respite in and of itself. Thanks for sharing that beautiful sound. Linda
I may be wrong, but as a child, I don't remember summers that are as hot as they are now. Granted, I live in AZ and that's a given. But even mountain states in the west that I lived in are over 100+ now. I don't understand it all but I DO believe there is a global warming thing goin' on.
I guess I better stop complaining about New York City's 90s then. Florida sounds so very sweaty!
I love the sounds of rain, and I hope to hear them for real very soon. We've still got drought going on in California.
=)
We had a stretch in July with temps like that! August brought temps in the 90's which is not the norm, usually we top 100's for a week or so as well. Labor Day weekend was in the 80's, which was very nice! I'm glad you got some much needed rain!
