Walking On The Dry Side

I walked the dry creek which is really dry this time,
more dry than I've ever seen.
We had an abundance of rain through winter and spring
but now the deep holes are dry and the ponds are lower.
I know the leaves fall when the light lessens but many have fallen from the dry.  The trees are smarter than me and know when they can no longer feed their leaves.
As I walk and explore dry waterfalls I've never seen, I worry since water is such an important thing.
May the rains come.

Yes indeed, it looks like you need rain . . .
And not just a little bit . . .
May it arrive in these next October November days . . .

that is really dry, i did not realize it is like this since you had all that rain a few months ago. to bad we can't divided up the floods and send them to the dry areas.

Hi Gail, We had been very very dry here also --until last week. BUT--for the past several days, we have had quite a bit of rain/drizzle/clouds/wind, etc.... But--like you, because of the dry weather, many leaves have already dried up and fallen off.... So far, we don't have much autumn color here yet....

Sad to see the creek and waterfalls SO dry!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Know what you mean. I kicked up dust today going to the mailbox. We really need some of that wet stuff.

A familiar sight for me, until yesterday. Now we are in desperate need of an ark. Your images are beautiful, even though the ground is dry!!

Be careful what you wish for !!!! We are expecting over 12" on top of the 8" we have already got. No dry creeks around here !!!!!!

Is that when they fall? It's been so rainy and dreary here, I hope we aren't missing the pretty colors! It's going to be sunny starting Monday, though, so hopefully it'll all come out!

I'll gladly send you some of this rain we've been getting. They even cancelled school yesterday. And it's not even related to the hurricane. Yet. We're getting more. I thought of you today when they said we should all be on the lookout for slithery things that are on the move due to the rain. I'm looking so I can move far away from here should I see one. :)

Good gracious, I think Florida should send some of their rain to you all! Good luck. I hope it's not rainy in Alabama this coming week.

When the rain comes, that water will cascade magnificently.
